I got one of the new Ruger rxm guns at a show as soon as it came out and been firing just about all brands of 9 ammo with no problems at all yet , did geta new grip frame in black , and 6 more new magpul mags also have a boat load of fact Glock mags all run fine ! It cfits all my Desantis and Galco leather Glock holsters perfect . I like it can`t wait to see if they come out with a G/26 size slide kit or what ever to change it , ,

I bought an RXM last week at my local Rural King store, $399. They had three in stock at the time.

Initial impressions are very positive. I like the grip. Magpul says it's a 20.5 degree angle, which makes sense, looking at them side by side with my 1911. The polymer texture feels grippy but doesn’t abrade skin. The built in ledges on the slide are nicely formed. I like the "magwell" flare and spacer ribs internal to the grip.

I found disassembly a little easier than most of my Glocks. Maybe the Slide Lock is wider, or pointier, maybe? I measured Trigger Weight (Lyman Digital) at 4.7 lbs, using an average of 5 pulls. A magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 124 AE weighs 231 grams/8.1 oz. Unloaded pistol weighs 608 grams/21.1 oz. Pistol is 839 grams/29.6 oz, loaded 15+0.

Just one range session so far. Shot 115 rounds, mix of Federal Americal Eagle 115 and 124 range ammo. This includes 15 rounds of Federal HST 124. No malfunctions. I tried a couple magazines limp wristing one-handed, no problems there either. Sight picture seems to be a combat hold for me; but I was only shooting out to 10 yards, so who knows. I used the PMAGs that came with the gun, and the standard iron sights. I like the front. Mostly it's a big white blob, as I can't see the front after cataract surgery this year. Will be mounting an optic "soon".

Trigger feels fine to me. The shoe reminds me of the Apex I had on my Glock 34. I'm getting a hot spot on the trigger guard, close to the frame. I need to relieve the polymer and radius it a bit more, but I typically have to do that on most all of my grips.

I like it a lot.

Picked one of these up yesterday after shooting a friends. Hard to pass up for the price. ( $399 -10%):) Took it home for a cleaning & maybe a polish but ran into a question. How to remove the trigger housing from the fire control insert. Any help here?

Good to hear, and excellent write up. Between you and @Bosch maybe I need to call Ruger back and request a new barrel. Mine just doesn't reliably feed that last round of any JHP I tested with PMAGs. Glock mags, 100% all the time reliability. PMAGs, only 100% with ball ammo. They even feed reliably with defensive loads until that last one. 🤷

BTW @PilatusTurbo thanks for an actual GUN thread that is substantial. GT is getting too social media-ish with random drivel and drama, so nice to see a new gun and a good discussion of it.

While I enjoy the humor found in many threads, this type of discussion is why I joined GT.

Stripped one completely as soon as I got it. The fire control group is all Glock Gen 3 EXCEPT for the trigger housing which is Ruger proprietary.
So you are saying that the trigger shoe and trigger bar are Gen 3 compatible. But that's all, right? And the locking block certainly isn't. So the trigger shoe and the trigger bar are the only elements in the FCU that are Gen 3 compatible. And yes, the FCU is compatible with any Gen 3 slide but not with Gen 3 frames, either OEM or clone.

I'm having a hard time understanding the purpose of the FCU. It's supposed to be "modularity", because it will take any Gen 3 slide and many frames. But a Gen 3 OEM or clone will already take any slide or frame that is Gen 3 compatible.

So what do you gain and lose with a FCU? You gain the ability to swap frames without having to separate out the locking block, trigger housing, and trigger bar. You lose the ability to swap Gen 3 frames but are now limited to frames made especially for this particular FCU (and not even FCUs in general). And it seems to me that the FCU has only added complexity because it's not easier to swap than it is to swap a locking block and trigger housing/ bar. The FCU makes everything proprietary except for the slide and the trigger shoe and bar. Is that really what you are looking for?

It’s pretty much the same concept as a p365 FCU.
transferable to different size factory made grip frames. Or to grip frames specifically made for the FCU. Not for swapping into a Glock frame or dagger or any of the other gen 3 “clone” grips. But can make use of the many gen 3 slides out there.

I’m sure magpul will be producing a bunch of options and others will (Wilson?) will make them after a while.

@MarkCO @Jarhead Al I appreciate that coming from you guys, two people for whom I have a great deal of respect.

I agree, that we really are here to enjoy the hobby and discussion of gun related stuff. I kinda get tired of seeing random stuff here, too.

I never shot a pistol with supressor height irons. Do you hold a little high? I was on the fence on this gun. I gave my 19.3 to my step son but I have a Canik TP9SF Elite (15 round plastic striker pistol) so I was going to hold off but now I am leaning towards picking one up largely due to this thread.

I live in WA so the factory mags were confiscated. I already had some P-Mags and factory Gen 4 and 5 mags for my G-19. Using those interchangeably.
Have them send them to me. I can take them :ROFLMAO:

I had no problems with the sights when I shot my friends before buying mine. They are a little taller than standard but I didn't notice holding any higher. On some pistols, to me, look way to tall if your not running a red dot.

I noticed literally no difference in how I shoot irons the first time I shot the RXM. Very nice shooter, irons or optics. I love mine... Just with Glock mags LOL :D It's been one of the best purchases I've made in a while. :)
