My next Glock (god only knows when that will happen) is going to be a 357 Sig I really like the stats plus I like the size of the 19 frame,

I think there is alot of subjectivity to what you are saying.. there is lots of data on the net about excellent 135 gr performance.... Is your data all based on you looking at a bullet after you fired it into something..A 135gr bullet in the .40 gets velocities closer to the .357sig 125gr and very close energy levels however the performance between the two bullets is quite different when they hit the target. Take a look at a 135gr .40 bullet sometime, its about as long as it is wide with a rather poor SD. I shoot both .40 and .357sig in my Glocks but a 135gr. bullet is my very last choice for a .40 bullet, especially for self defense.
Any auto round round can exibit setback from repeated chamberings. Setback on a 180gr .40 can be very dangerous due to the long bullet taking up a lot of real estate in the case thus causing major pressure spikes with even a little setback. The .357sig has a somewhat small amount of the case neck gripping the bullet so you can get setback a little easier. Chambering a round several times without measuring and keeping an eye on setback of any auto round is just asking for trouble IMO.
All I meant was, with the barrel swap out, there is no need for extractor, or, even magazine change, for successfully transformation to the other caliber. Making it the "perfect" conversion!I wish I had the time to test mine out. I have a 23c with the .22LR AA kit, 40-9 extended barrel which is ported and comped and the 357 SIG barrel which I had ported as well. 4 in 1
THISDon't you have a glock in 40? Boy if there was ever a conversion made in heaven it's the 40 to sig.
OR...Don't you have a glock in 40? Boy if there was ever a conversion made in heaven it's the 40 to sig.
I check my OAL with a caliper and haven't experienced any additional setback compared to strait walled cases, I haven't ever experienced any feeding issues with any Glocks but the bottleneck can only help with more reliable feedingAnd according to some, may be prone to set back moreso than other rounds? Dont know if thats true in real life, but if so, the look isnt worth it IMO...
But with out the sectional density/barrier penetration.:tongueout:You can shoot 135 grain .40 and its basically a .357 sig round... :whistling:

The OP clearly asked for pros and cons. I answered. Dalton is free to read and heed my opinion or dismiss it as he wishes.I love it when the OP says "my next gun is going to be a 32" and then people try to talk them into a 29 or something else.
Actually the 45 GAP seems to get better "I know you are, but what am I?" arguments going than the 357 Sig, at least here on Glock Talk..357 sig - The Most Controversial Round Ever
No other caliber ever has so many people trying to talk somebody out of it for whatever reason. Bullet Setback. Price. Capacity. Wear & Tear. Noise. Recoil. Fill-in-the-blank.
I can't think of one forum thread I've ever read that doesn't taper down to self-touted experts stating what a useless round the sig is. When someone says they want a 9mm, "that's fine". When someone says they want a .40, "that's great". When someone says they want a .45, "you're a real man, now". But when someone says they want a .357 sig, OMG you would think they just ran over a duffel bag full of puppies and kittens. "Why would you want that?" "Way too expensive!"
I'll never understand it.

Keep this thread going and they will show up
That is a nice selection of guns. I would like to get a P2000 at some point.I love my Glock 34C and carry it much of the time. I also have a P2K a SIG 229 and Sig 226 and I find the G 32C the best all around, accurate and easy to control.
