I have to ask... your signature line says "Ruger RXM Fanboy Club PRESIDENT".

Is this an elected position?

Or is this more of a blatant power grab on your part, more akin to either a dictatorship or a rigged "election" like in Russia, Venezuela, or Georgia (the country, not the state!). Inquiring minds want to know!
Self appointed damnit! I wanted to be in charge of something! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Nah, I decided to be an early adopter of the RXM, because while it initially intrigued me, I figured I'd wait a year or two before buying one. I almost always do that, guns, PC games, etc. However, the Ruger haters kinda spurred me into it. I really do like the concept, and I do think it's different. Some say it's not innovative at all. I simply disagree in the sense that, no they're not wrong as it's opinion, but I do think it is something new.

Someone said the Mini-14 was junk. I disagree, while it's definitely more expensive than it should be, it's not junk. However, I don't know what it costs to make one. If you think it's too expensive, well, the next step up for something akin to it is something like an M1A and it's PRICEY. It's just not as reliable (close) as a modern TDP AR-15, that is cared for properly. Mini's can jam, even the newer ones. Barrel whip, accuracy issues, etc, are a non-issues on more modern rifles.

Their Security 9 is overpriced at anything above $299 street price before tax, and they're coming back down to earth on that. It was $399++ for a few years LOL NO.

@Maccabeus and @Jarhead Al You guys voted for the right guy. :D Just changed the thread title to make more sense. Your RXM Fanboy Club tax dollars at work.
It seems that you are now in the process of being formally elected by your voting constituents, so your signature line is validated. You got my vote!

Congratulations on your victory, Mr. President!

So it was a blatant power grab! And it worked!!!

You are now in charge! Hey, the toilets on the second floor are not working. And I want a big tax relief check. Can you please get all that fixed?

Chop the frame and you are there.
I can barely draw a straight line. I can do all sorts of stuff to a revolver or a 1911, but chopping polymer is not something I really want to play with when I know they will be releasing them at some point.

@PilatusTurbo did you fill out private message admin survey saying you would want to start an RXM Forum??? 🤔 I can see it in your future!

Got my new barrel back, about a 2 week turnaround on my part as well. First range day went really well 450 rounds with no hiccups or problems. Didn't do any JHP yet, intending to next time I go out. With Cabela's club deals and price matching I walked out the door with it for $360 and I have no regrets at all at that price. Used the 20% off registering it with Ruger to get the black grip as well.

The main reason I got it is because I have always wanted to get into optics but my G19.4 has no optic mounting. I'd prefer to not get it milled, so my only option was to get a new slide. I was debating on getting the Brownell's Glock 19 Gen 4 optic cut slide but when I wanted to purchase it disappeared from their website. A few months passed and then suddenly, Ruger RxM release. The grip angle feels much better for me than the G19 and the trigger feels better too. I think Ruger really nailed it here. Sure it lacks uniqueness but it's a $400 MSRP Glock clone with a Fire Control Insert and a ton of improvements with $40 grip options, and that's extremely appealing. Considering slide costs were within $200-$300 I feel like I made out pretty well with this gun, and it also just feels better for me. Hope to see it continue to deliver reliable performance.

Light is obvious, TLR-7 HL-X. Optic is a Holosun SCS 320.

Very, very nice! That SCS 320 looks like it was made for this gun. It pulls it off nicely. :D

Does the RXM have a grip angle that is closer to a 1911? I was curious if it had better pointability than the Glock 19? I have heard that the Lone Wolf frames were like this and I just wondered if this was something that Magpul address when making this frame.
FYI, I'm running 2 Lone Wolf (Timberwolf) frames, and yes, there have 1911 grip angles, or dang close to it. I feel no difference between them and my 1911.

Handled one of these for the first time tonight. I like the traction on the grip. Definitely better than Glock in that aspect.
Yeah, between the traction, and the un-changing grip circumference, it just works. I used to think all the G-Clones that had the straight grip looked awful, but this one pulled it off just barely enough for me to try. Once I tried it, it just fits my hand so well.

Yeah, it's much better than a Glock grip angle; even though it's kinda between a Glock and a 1911, it's almost the perfect blend. Similar, very close, to M&P 2.0.

As far as "traction" goes, the Magpul frames benefit from a stiple job just like the Glocks and others. They all need a more aggressive and fuller coverage texture.

Magpul's plastic compound seems to be a little different than the others and at first didn't seem like it was going to take well to being stippled. Changed the tip out on the iron for a finer one and a few extra strokes of a file and it worked out great.

One thing that annoys me about the Magpul's is where the inset in the frame where the slide lock and FCU pin is. Its right where my thumb likes to anchor into the frame and my thumb cant get a good hold and wants to slide off there as I shoot. The same spot on my other guns gets stippled there as well. I did stipple the RXM's there as well, but the offset doesn't give you much to work with, or to be able to get a good hold.

As far as the grip angle goes, I suppose if you want to dwell on it, it's an issue. Shoot any of them a little bit to be familiar, and none of them are a problem.

Just sitting here comparing my RXM to my 19, laid on top of each other, and there is only a slight difference at the backstraps and how they sweep up. Everything else is pretty much identical. Both guns point and shoot the same for me, and the dots come right up in the window when I present the gun. I shoot a couple of 1911's (AMH's) on a regular basis as well, and they all point and shoot about the same for me, the slight differences in grip angles are a non issue.

I will say Ive never been a big fan of how the Glock 19's feel in my hand (especially the ones with the cutout in the front), just feels cramped, and that same annoyance carries over to the RXM. Im looking forward to seeing what their full size frames bring.

Good points. Yes, the RXM pin is right where your thumb goes. It gets hot if you're going to run a couple hundred rounds in quick succession, as I've done several times.

I get what you're saying about the grip feeling cramped. The 19 Gen 3 is just right for my hands, but if my hands were a smidge larger, the finger grooves would suck, as many say they do. The RXM grip is exactly as you said, my hand barely fits perfectly on it.

Can't wait for your updates and range rep. :) Do post a pic of the stipple job you did, too.

Heres mine stippled....

Image

Along with a Gen 3 Glock that's had the finger grooves ground down.

Image

The RXM's have around a case and a half through them at this point, pretty evenly split. The one has been 100 percent, and the other has had a few feeding stoppages each time out. The same mags used with both guns, and they have worked fine in all my 19's as well, so Im not sure whats going on there. Could be a batch of worn out reloads too, so we'll see.

Nice and clean stipple job.
