Hi, Gen 3 Glock 17. Currently using OEM trigger group but with GPT shoe. Not wild about the GPT shoe.

Looking for recommendations on a flat face trigger shoe that matches as many of the the following conditions as possible:

1) Either does not remove pre-travel or has adjustable pre-travel - I use an AA conversion kit so shoes that automatically remove an exorbitant amount of pre-travel are out.
2) Gen 3 thickness - some shoes are designed to fit "all gens" which means they are skinnier than normal and it can induce a bit of wobble
3) Aluminum or Polymer, either is ok

Meh, disregard, have been extensively googling and I'll be darned if I can find a flat face shoe, aside from GPT, that does not remove at least some pre-travel.

Assume you are talking about the PolyDat?

Considered that, but can't seem to determine one way or another if it takes out pre-travel. Heard it removes none, a little, and "some".

You are not going to get the trigger you desire with just the shoe as your original post suggested. The best you can do for a Glock trigger is a (-) connector and a flat face trigger. Look at Zev or Overwatch Precision for trigger systems. The other more popular alternative is to shoot about 2000 rds and learn your trigger and break in the surfaces.

I don't mean to be a dick... but what makes you think you have ANY idea of the kind of trigger I desire?

I never said ANYTHING about a perfect break or anything like that.

I know a shoe ain't gonna work wonders for a trigger. ALTHOUGH, the VEX shoe IS a pretty darn good standalone part with OEM internals in it's own right.

Thanks again, got it and installed.

Turns out it does remove some takeup actually, but, it is still safe with the AA conversion kit, so I'll call it a win.

It's a nice in-the-middle between the GPT shoe and the Vex in terms of take-up removal.

Aftermarket triggers that DON'T reduce take-up are hard to find. Ask me how I know!

In my experience, Apex is the only FF shoe that allows the trigger bar to go fully forward. It passes the punch test with the trigger bar fully forward and with the dingus tight against the frame.

I didn’t know the GPT shoe could be put on the standard trigger assemblies. Is there a way to buy the shoe separately or do you have to buy the whole GPT?
