Ruger LCP II .380 - bought for $219 shipped. Perfectly natural point of aim, reasonably accurate & reliable in my opinion. It also has a great trigger for such a small gun (better than anything comparable in size in my opinion).

I also consider these cheap in terms of price...

M&P Shield (any non-Plus version). This is my second one. I had the original and then I bought this Performance Center model for only $327 shipped after rebate. In fact, I had this really cheap underpowered ammo that none of my other guns could cycle reliably without a malfunction (including Glocks) but the Shield never jammed. The Shield Plus, however, might stretch the definition of a cheap handgun, but the M1.0 and M2.0 handguns can still be found new and used for relatively very little money.

M&P9 M2.0 Subcompact. I bought mine on sale for only $379 and again, it is a phenomenal firearm. It's like the size of a G26 but with a slightly longer barrel, better grip texture & ergonomics and two more rounds in the flush magazine. Though it is a little longer heightwise (the same height as the P365), it is even shorter than the G26 in any of its +2 configurations.

With the money I saved over the comparable Glocks (which I owned in the past), I was able to buy some great Ameriglo night sights for them as well. They are accurate, very ergonomic, soft-shooting, utterly reliable and I think they look cool too. I have far more expensive carry guns (double, triple & quadruple the price), but I like these as much because the all have a roll to play.

Back in the day, when they were first coming in, I scored a CZ 82 M&P in 9mm Makarov for just under $200. Great little gun. I don’t know what they’re seeking for now, if you can even still find them.
I bought four of them for the same price using my C&R FL.

GREAT GUNS!!!(y)

FYI ...

The Anderson Manufacturing Kiger 9C budget (?) G19 gen3 "clone" is slated to drop on October 25. Aim Surplus will offer the Kiger 9C base model to ARFCOM (ar15.com) members for $379.00,

The Kiger 9C incorporates the SCT Manufacturing SCT 19 G19 gen3 frame. Aim Surplus is currently offering the SCT 19 frame to ARFCOM (ar15.com) members for $42.00.

It's a little unclear how Anderson Manufacturing expects to compete with the Compact Dagger™ base model at $299.99.

This old H&R 649 came with both 22LR and 22 WMR cylinders and shoots pretty good with both. This is six rounds of Super X 40 grain 22 WMR, standing unsupported from 50 yards.

What about the SCCY? I don't own one but I've heard lots of stories..both good and bad(mostly bad.)
SCCY cpx1 is not a bad gun, especially for a new shooter. It has a manual thumb safety and a long trigger pull & reset. I believe it’s a good gun to start out with. As far as reliability goes, the one I had did have some trigger & safety issues out of the box. However, I reached out to SCCY and they sent me a pre-paid shipping label. Turn around was a week. When I got it back, it functioned fine. Very reliable IMO.

Ruger LCP, a couple of CA revolvers. I had an old Kel-tech but traded it away. I may buy a couple of the Tisas 1911’s they are pretty cheap but good guns. All my Glocks are Gen 3 so they are fairly inexpensive too,

If cheap is <$300, then this one qualifies. I only have it for a month. So far, I am impressed.

Kel-Tec's version of Taurus' TX-22. The TX-22 is a phenomenal pistol, one of my favorites to take to the range! I believe I paid under $250 each for both of mine (The wife confiscated the first one!).

I was gonna get the TX-22, but it pointed high for me. The P17 points more naturally. It points almost the same as my S&W Shield.

It points really well with the suppressor on it. It's one of my favorite range toys because it's fun to shoot and cheap to shoot!

I like cheap handguns that work. By working I mean guns that are dependable and accurate enough to be used for self defense. They might not be fancy or have a good resale value but that doesn't really bother to me. I had rather have a gun that works and 500 rounds of ammo than a fancy gun and 50 rounds.
My cheap guns would be,
My KelTec P3AT, been carrying it for years.
My Canik TP9sa, bought it when most people said they were junk.
My Rossi 38 snub nose. Bought a used one but the guy begged for it back so I got a new one about 20 years ago. I liked the old one better though.
When Ruger came out with the SR series I bought a used P97 cheap and it makes shooting 45acp fun. Big and chunky but soaks up the recoil.
Anyone else have any elcheapo guns that works for them?
My 1911 Tisas
