Has anyone come up with an ingenious way to attach a pouch with a belt loop to a molle strap?

I can use some tie-wraps but I think that will flop around too much. I have to believe that I’m not the first one to run across this so there must be a logical solution.

The loop my leatherman pouch was made to go on a belt, not the molle straps on my backpack. If I try to attach it using something like a Blackhawk speed clip the pouch would be sideways.

I could tie it on with cord or tie-wraps but I was looking for a way that might be cleaner or tighter.

I don’t think that help me either.

I guess I’ll just put some tie-wraps through the pouch belt loop and run the speed clip through them.

I won't recommend this to anyone, but what I do if the belt loop is long enough, thin enough and stiff enough, is to cut the stitching and install a heavy duty snap so I can pass it through the webbing and secure it.

But now that I think about it, a button anchored with strong thread or a hook-and-eyelet type closure on the end of loop might work as well, though I've never tried it.

If it is short and stubby like many belt loops, then I use 550 cord to secure it.

I zip tied my trauma kit to the back of my 3 day backpack, but I used like 12 of them to cinch it up real tight. Looks ugly but does the job. Not here to win any beauty contests.

That's what I'll do, but I'll still use the speed clip to keep it adjustable without cutting the tie wrap

I did something similar with a Flashlight pouch for work. I sewed some Velcro on it with the sewing machine.

Yes, I own a sewing machine. A single guy has to learn many different things in order to survive. :supergrin:

Or mount the malice clip to the belt loop with cable ties, then mount it to your webbing.

I just figured this out last night!

You can use a Blade Tech Large Teklok attached to their MOLLE clips for a quick detach MOLLE to Belt connection.

You can get an attachment, but it's much easier and probably cheaper to just buy a MOLLE leatherman pouch off Ebay. I even have a couple with the leatherman logo like syntaxerrorsix posted.

Go to any hobby store and pick up some sticky back velcro two inch wide. Put the two sticky sides together from the hook and loop. Cut the velcro three times the width of the widest strap on the leaterman or your molle strap. Hold the two straps together and rap them with the velcro. It has woked for me. If the leatherman slides down on the molle strap, cut another strap of velcro and rap the space that the first peace didn't get. You may have to cut it to make it fit. Any way if you fill in the space it can't slide. Hope this helps.
