Worth the upgrade to a S&W Shield 2.0 ?

I have a S&W Shield 9mm 1.0, and even with the not so great trigger I like it and shoot great with it. I hear that the 2.0 has an improved trigger but not much else has changed. Anyone think it would be worth upgrading to ?

If you have a (late) PC version I would say to skip the 2.0 as there is not enough of a difference. I've compared the two and still carry my ported shield 9mm and Glock 43.

Good choice. I've owned a few gen 1 Shields over the years, and recently revisited the platform in the form of the 2.0, and while I do like the new texture and trigger better than the 1.0, it wouldn't be enough to pay the higher price if I already owned a gen 1. In fact, I'm trying to trade my 2.0 for a G43, any takers? Lol, shameless plug.

I was at a S&W demo and asked one of their reps what was different on the 2.0 Shield. He said it had a better grip and upgraded trigger. I later spoke to a different rep and asked him the same question. He said the only change was the more aggressive grip texture. So....

In any event, I owned a 1.0 Shield at the time but wasn't very accurate with it. In defense of the pistol, I am a new shooter. And any issues with accuracy should be blamed on my inexperience and not the gun. After 1,000 rounds without seeing much improvement, and shooting better with every rental I tried out, I ditched the Shield for a Glock 19.

This past weekend I tried out a Glock 43 and was more accurate with it than I ever was with the Shield. Go figure?

I have a few Shields 1.0 and have found them to be very easy to shoot and hit stuff. I was off S&W for a long time due to some of their political statements and policies while I was an early buyer of many of their pistols.

I shot a buddy's 9mm Shield and was very surprised with it. Fast forward to now owning some and being impressed with many parts of those shooters. It seems like mine have the triggers smoothing out with a very low round count where I thought I would have to pump many 100's of rounds through them before evaluating whether or not to upgrade the trigger. I've decided to keep them all stock except for adding a Hogue beavertail slip on grip.

If I was the owner of a 1.0 and was wondering if the trigger "upgrade" was worth the selling of the 1.0 and the buying of the 2.0, I would explore the thought of simply upgrading the trigger. Many have said that the Apex trigger is a upgrade contender.

They blew the doors off the 1.0's when dumping them for 2.0's. With the $75 rebate the originals were going for $219 from Palmetto. I bought one just because of the price. The trigger did indeed suck and I sold it just before the 2.0's came out. But if you wonder why you can't sell your 1.0 for anywhere near what you paid for it that is the reason.
