The Walmart app is not useful for seeing what is or is not in stock. I do not make special trips to Walmart for ammo. If I am there, I may look at what is there and buy something. Currently, I am stocked up on Ammo and supplies and I am not looking for more.

I have had much better luck online. You have to be fast to get shortage items. This means having an account with the seller along with stored credit card information. The trick is avoiding minimum fees on shipping, but be ready to do do to get the purchase done fast. In many cases, all stock is gone within 45 seconds. Email and text notifications may lag behind each other and the first received method wins.

Also, I am flexible on what ammo I will buy. If all they have is 38 SPL, that is fine. I have guns in all major calibers and I am willing to alter my carry, if needed. Many are fixed on 9mm and 22 LR when buying and it causes them a lot of frustration.

Lately, I buy from Cabelas when their price is good. I do the purchase online and pick it up in the local store. When I puck it up, I check the shelves and may buy some extra. If it is well stocked, I may buy some, put it in the car and go back in for more.

Another trick is avoid weekend and hours right after work.

Be careful using the Walmart app.

It makes some people very angry.

Where I am at...there is a "Pack"...like Wolves, or more aptly, Hyaenas...that travel the WallyWorld (Walmart) circuit DAILY...
they use the MOBILE Walmart "app" and know each and every Walmart location's, "truck-to-case" times & available for "sale" times...
...they show up up to 3 hrs. early, take a number...and wait.
Some stores provide good reading materials for them... the truck MANIFEST or shipment lists...and they study these, drool and use the sometimes supplied yellow highlighter to separate the "ammo" form other sporting goods dept. items.
Also, during this wait for the ammo...ALL the problems of the World are solved.:sarcastic:
When the ammo arrives, either at the strictly enforced "scheduled" times and not-minute-sooner, or when the truck is unloaded, they make it disappear faster than a fattened calf in pool of Piranhas.
They do not have a life...
...now, they have purpose, and previously bored & marginalized Walmart "Associates" have a new lease on life...
new found power & popularity...CONTROL:big_boss:

This morning was good for Federal .223 100 round value packs

The first store posted the 3 boxes per day limit, but the manager only allowed 1 box per caliber. The second store was 3 boxes any caliber. The third store said they had none even though the app reported it in stock. Seemed a little fishey to me.

Anyway the wifey came along and we scored a total of 8 boxes / 800 rounds at .35 per round.

I would like to add that a case of this product is only 4 boxes.

That's awesome. I have been hunting down 223 ammo more than any other caliber, but that is the one I cannot seem to find. I wind up going in looking for that, but walk out with some other type of difficult to get ammo. I either fill up the cans with another caliber I have or pick up some for family members. I really think our WM just doesn't order it. I haven't seen the 100 count boxes in a long time.

I would like to report that

Cartersville #615
101 Market Place Blvd
Cartersville, GA 30121
(770) 382-0182

now reports out of stock. I don't think the employee was honest with us. I will not be chasing ammo at this Walmart in the future.

With the help of the wifey, added another 6 boxes of .223 100 round value packs to the stock pile. This was the first time I had been ammo shopping in the morning at a non 24 hour Walmart. We arrived at 5:30 and were first at the door. There was a very nice Walmart employee there keepeing tabs on who arrived and in what order. By the time the doors opened there were 6 of us. Everything was orderly.

At this point I am done trying to track down ammo at wally world. The app isnt fast enough down here in south florida people are just buying it too fast. Been trying for weeks. Just going to pay extra on armslist to the people who got there before me :faint:

For WM, you need to figure out how they put out there ammo. For our local WM, they have stopped putting out the morning ammo. The only stuff in the morning has been leftovers from the night before. They have been getting trucks around 6:00 to 7:00 in the evening, and there really hasn't been a long enough line to stop you from finding at least 3 "good find" ammo boxes. My brother grabbed 22LR last night in 225 count boxes with no line in front. That was at 7:00. I passed by at 10:00, and I was able to find everything but the 22LR.
