I had looked at Rock Island, Auto Ordnance and Tisas for as close to a military issue reproduction that I could find. I think this one is a winner and the price was right. The ejection port is raised like the originals. Plus it is parkerized and not cerakoted. The finish is nice and even.

It came with two sets of grips, walnut double diamond, but I opted for the included brown checkered.

Right side markings. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY"

Serial number and importer are on the left side of the frame

Magazines are Mecgar and also Parkerized.

Im pretty impressed with it so far and put a 50 round box of Winchester 230 gr FMJ through it today without any issues. Sights are small GI style original, but seemed to be accurate. It is a tight fit frame to slide and bushing to barrel. I think I need to dig out my .45 acp dies and order up some 230 gr FMJ bullets. I need a lot more range time with it.

Nice!

The Tisas haters will be along shortly to tell you your handgun is a POS and that you should have spent 2K on a beat to hell GI Remington Rand instead :ROFLMAO:.

You have a solid quality handgun. Now go shoot the heck out of it and enjoy it.

Yup, terrible guns. You'll hate it so just do yourself a favor and send it to me for proper "disposal"..........

That is once I fully test it like all mine.

Glad you like them. I’d have way sooner bought something like a TRP over those three or whatever half decent 1911 I could get for the same cost.

To each their own, obviously.

I own one of these. It’s fun. I wish I shot it more but I usually shoot my carry gun when I make it out to the range.

I’ve had no problems with my GI variant. My friend had another Tisas 1911 and it was jamming on him. I borrowed it a bit and adjusted the extractor slightly and he had no more issues after that. Extractor was a bit tight, just had to slightly bend it outward.

Congrats on the pistol, looks great.

I picked one up 2 years ago and it’s been great. I’m not a 1911 guy and only own a TRP besides this one, but the Tisas has kept up and I picked up on a sale for not much at all.

People generally feel pretty strongly about them but they have a pretty loyal following here.

I didn’t buy the Nighthawk… I’m waiting until SHOT is over to see if anything juicy presents.

This is where Tisas shines. A good solid 1911 that is as close to USGI as possible without paying the premium.

Even CMP pistols these days aren't looking like grandpa's 1911. They are the ones that were modified post WWII for SOCOM, AMU, and others.

I'm holding out for a used, lightweight 9mm from them to basically throw in the mud near me house or zip tie it to my spare tire under my truck for a winter.

It can do it! It can do it! You don’t have to perform such a torture test!

Please, sir… I beg you to reconsider.
