Another good range day. :)

TL;DR: Well, took it back and ran test with the TLR-1HL, TLR-7A, and the new Holosun 507C Opmod grey. We Passed 1000 rounds with flying colors, and 100% reliability with Gen 5 Glock mags. Even tested 200 rounds of Blazer 115 gr FMJ. Perfect. 3rd and Final Range Rep, for me at least; I'll absolutely continue shooting it and updating this thread, but it's passed my requirements and met my expectations.

The RXM ate up 400+ rounds today in just under an hour, 100 of it being JHP ammo for the final JHP test. Most testing was done with the TLR-7A clamped on tight, and I ran 4 mags of JHP with that, and 2 total with the TLR-1HL hanging off the front.

I did take two PMAGs and loaded them up with mostly ball ammo, and a few rounds of JHP on the bottom, and they did the same nose dive. A cool RSO was watching here and there, doing his job well (Shooter's World, so I'm glad they're keeping competent RSOs in close range at all times). He looked a bit intrigued, so I showed the setup to him. Said a coworker bought an RXM right away, too, and he's been able to run about 200 rounds through it at their range. He also likes it quite a lot, recoil impulse and trigger pull. I briefly went over what I was doing, and the PMAG failures being the only reliability factor as he asked about that. He agreed that OEM Glock mags are the way to go, PMAGs are range only. He had a nice Radian Ramjet Afterburner equipped G19.4, and asked what he thought of it. He said load up a few rounds of your ammo and you can give it a whirl. Those Ramjets are pretty slick and really do affect recoil impulse positively. I asked if he wanted to run the RXM with the red dot and light equipped. He was thoroughly impressed after shooting it, and @FrankenGunBuilder he was perplexed by the Holosun. When I told him what I paid for it, his eyes got wide and he nodded. He said it's gotta be a 407C, nope. I told him about DVOR. :D

@racer88 I'm thoroughly impressed with the 507C, as it's been a couple years since I shot with a physically bigger dot. Man, just in the few hundred rounds today, I was already seeing improvement, so I'm not gonna crap on pistol optics anymore. :ROFLMAO: Zeroed easily, shooting became instinctively easy. Just make sure the trigger pull breaks when the dot is where you want it, and the hole is where you want it. Thanks for helping me to reconsider the Holosun C models, and I'm quite happy with it. Thing kept chugging, and has CLP and carbon on the front window now :D

Got nice and dirty, and am now gonna clean it periodically between hanging with people for the holiday evening.
I'm very impressed with this handgun, and am super happy to own it. It takes all accessories you'd want and still runs perfectly. It's been a lot of fun really going and running one gun fast and hard, I'm getting better again, so the perishable skills do come back quickly.

Also, got a range membership that I can use with literally no limits, so I'm gonna be doing a lot of shooting this coming year, I hope. :D Some other cool Rugers came along today, and ran the 43 for a few mags, again. Everything ran really well today, and that's a great range trip.

@marsbase Agreed on all points.

I’m so looking forward to getting one! I have three Glocks and a CZ P10 C and i love them all! I so wish they did an all black one though, not a fan of the grey!
You're gonna love it my dude. Just get Glock mags until Ruger/Magpul figure it out, if it's even a widespread issue. It's probably not, but mine doesn't like running PMAGs. Other than that, it's a solid 10/10 for me. :)

Cool! Did you get the ACSS Vulcan version? With the chevron and outer circle?

No, I ended up getting the Opmod 507C that Frankengun recommended off DVOR. Standard 507C with a cool grey paint job and says Opmod on it :) It was $215 before tax and shipping. Couldn't say no since it was just a hair over what I was looking to spend.

I'm not a fan of the suppressor size sights. I just might go with replacing them with XS DXT Big Dot's in yellow instead.

I’ve been working up something to extend the backstrap a bit so I may give the RXM a round 2 if I can get the mod to work.

While I do like the echelon 4.0 better as far as ergos go, there are things I like about the RXM slightly more, especially being as heavily invested in Glock as I am.

I would like to work out a grip solution for the RXM that would work for me, at least until new module designs start trickling out.

It looks like it takes Glock pattern sights. Is that the case? There are two things about it that make me not interested. First, I am not fond of flat backstraps and even less fond of non-replaceable backstraps. I typically run my Glocks with the medium beavertail backstrap. It has just enough of a palm swell to satisfy my Walther P-99 proclivity. The second issue is the inability to replace the trigger. I acknowledge that stock Glock triggers are less than ideal. Before I even take my Glocks to the range, they all get a trigger job (except for my Glock 21 because I can't find a trigger for it). I won't be able to do that for the RxM (yet). Having said that, I think the RxM will appeal to those who want a G19 MOS at a sub-$500 price. I believe this was a smart move on Ruger's part as it results in about a $200 savings, leaving money available to buy an optic.
You can absolutely do a trigger job on the RXM. First thing I did was take it apart, polish everything and put it back together. Glock Gen 3 trigger bars/shoes will drop right in. The ONLY proprietary part is the actual trigger housing.

Needs a complete teardown and testing for swap-ability of various parts to see how many OEM Glock parts people can put in. One huge attraction of Glock is the ability to play Mr Potato Head, or Barbie, and play gunsmith.
Specifically the frame internals.
The slide will likely be completely cloned, boring.

Is the grip rubberized? There's a tendency for certain polymers to get tacky, nasty, and gross after several years.
Stripped one completely as soon as I got it. The fire control group is all Glock Gen 3 EXCEPT for the trigger housing which is Ruger proprietary.
It appears to me all slide components are also Glock Gen 3 compatible.

Great job with the write ups....not that it matters, but what's your intended use ?? EDC, range toy ??
For now, range practice gun, since it's kind of a blend of many triggers I use. Honestly, I just enjoy shooting it.

EDC? Perhaps one day, sure. For now, just a hobby item. Test project.

I knew you'd start working on something. Your level of skill, I couldn't imagine you not trying to work something up. Can't wait to see what you are working on with the RXM.

With frame modules being available fairly cheap it should be easy to experiment on one

Looking forward to the next chapter in the RXM shakedown. Good stuff here.

Glad you're enjoying it. I didn't think of it as a shakedown voyage, but that's exactly what we're doing here. :) I'm excited to go shoot more. Membership with totally unlimited use. 2 miles from my house. :D

Ruger has been making other people's guns better since their inception...See 3pat/lcp and Mini 14 just to name the biggest sellers
What "other people's" guns have they made period? I think the 10/22 is the most reliable semi-auto 22 made, but it wasn't a clone. I really like the MKIII 22 pistol, which isn't a clone. The rest of their lineup is only OK, not great, not junk, just OK. Ruger Precision is a misnomer. Their earlier bolt rifles were pretty well known to not group very well at all. Their DA revolvers aren't anything to get excited about. Their OU shotgun had some kind of balance or fit issue where recoil made it stomp a mudhole in you vs. a Citori using the same Win. AA shells. I could go on but..............
