They have a huge customer base so again, it just makes sense.
Yes, and they are a major. I can see LEAs going to this in decent numbers in 2025. Patrol Sgt friend texted me this morning asking what I thought. Told him to ask Ruger for a T&E sample.

It should be the exact same dimensions within a few millimeters of the G19 slide. You can literally take your 19 or 23 slide and it will go right on the Ruger and or take your Ruger slide and use on a Glock 19 frame.

If you wanted a 17/34 sized slide, you could also do that with the Ruger or G19 too. You will need a filler piece for the slide and a G5 17/34 barrel as it uses the G19 sized locking block.

Here is the filler piece.

Yes, the slides are the same width and are compatible with each other. I was wondering if the overall width.....frame width....is the same. In reality, I can't imagine it being much different than the 19 but one never knows...;)

My one and only Glock is a Gen 2 G22 which I carried on duty and then bought when I retired. Been looking at G 19 clones but dont really need one. I am a Ruger fan from way back and own a bunch of different ones. So the RXM just entered my realm of interest. I probably will never buy one if I did it'd probably be the Ruger.

As for Ruger making a G19 clone, it just makes sense. The G19 and clones is probably the most popular gun on the planet these days and like the 1911 and Ar15 it's about time Ruger jumped on the band wagon. They have a huge customer base so again, it just makes sense.
If Ruger made this FCU with a safety, I would be ALL IN!

So it has an optics cut that doesn’t require plates, suppressor sights, a front night sight, a chassis trigger-that’s a pretty serious setup for Ruger.
They used to do things like put adjustable rear Target sights on a Glockish knock off “because our customers like be be able to adjust the sights, shooting cans in the backyard is a concern”-someone from Ruger said that.
I couldn’t find one locally and paying shipping or a transfer fee takes the wind out of my sales on a knock off that’s price sensitive.

I’m glad some of you guys are willing to take one for the team and be early adopterd

The constant stream of surplus police Glocks maybe make these a tough sell for people into guns who know they can get a police gun for $350 and get Glock reliability even if it’s in a gun that looks like it was used to crack nuts.

Will people who buy PSA, XDs or Canicks look to a Ruger and see that as a better known option?

One video review did show it fits in G19 holsters pretty well. I think it was Mixup98. I like that guy. They did the trigger guard smart, even though it does not have the Glock pointed trigger guard, the meat of the trigger guard is dimensionally about identical so holster compatibility is good. The Dagger missed this mark, hard. Many people said it does NOT fit in G19 holsters. P-10C had the same issue. Mine never fit in G19 holsters, even though CZ was like IT DOES.

This is true. Ruger/retailers have some audacity to charge $299+ still for a Security 9. It's a $249 pistol. Period.

Yes! I forgot, and I own an APX. I did even change the grip to an FDE, and I do like the way it shoots. However, you're spot on. They never made it easy, or really put effort into FCU swapping, and aftermarket support. Not to mention, Beretta's customer service is a big turnoff to anyone who knows. Ruger, is the polar opposite. You have a problem with their product, they virtually bend over backwards to help.
Correct, i can literally take a10 min drive to the prescott factory if the need for repairs was warranted.

I also decided to run the RXM into and out of that kydex holster about a 100 times. Pressing on the sides, angling the gun around. These cheaper IWB kydex holsters eat a Gen 3 Glock's finish. Slide wear is not noticeable, the slide stop did get a little shiny point here and there. Not bad.

Shoulda seen the look on my wife's face when she asked me what I was doing to that holster and gun... 👀 :ROFLMAO:

Awesome. You're right up the hill from me in Phoenix, then. :) I wanna go to their factory some day. I'm gonna call and ask about a tour or something the my kiddo and me. I'm sure they won't be able to, but it'd be neat.

Like I mentioned, I think the got the main trigger guard dimensions right, and just left the point out at the front. I'll try some G19 holsters in a bit.
ETA: I put it in my SERPA DERPA for G19, and it also fit into my G19 kydex IWB holster. It did click in, but the feel was a bit mushy, so exactly as Mixup98 said: It'll fit G19 fitted holsters, but some adjustments to the tension screws may be required. Mag release is not being actuated by this holster, which is Gen 3 specific, and seems to have a flared mag button point for extended mag releases. That's fair, and a lot better than the P-10C or Dagger were able to say.

Got my calipers out... :D Widest point aside of magwelll, is the slide stop, and it's literally just the face of the slidestop. Also, the sight height in conjunction with the depth of optics cut and being able to direct mount, I can't see needing new sights to sight through the bottom of virtually any optic window. Like I said, Ruger did this optics cut right. To my knowledge, no one has done something like this. The 4 little index pins can be mounted in several different footprint configurations for certain optic footprint patterns, and function as drop in recoil lugs. My Max 9 has a similar system of drop in recoil lugs, very smart on their part.

Actual slide width is: 1.0"
Front index point: 1.14"
Slide stop width is: 1.22"
Grip width average is 1.15" or a hair less on how you measure. The whole grey grip frame is largely 1.15" except for some of those aforementioned exceptions.

Springfield Echelon has the same type system. They come with this kit Echelon™ Complete Pin Set for Variable Interface System giving one the option to run what ever optic they have on hand. Using the adapter plate my EPS came with, it was an easy install, with no need to swap any of the pins out.

Cool. Yeah it makes sense that the Echelon would have something like it, being a new design, and Springfield is definitely trying to push the envelope of innovation.

I was gonna ask, but googled it 😅 the Echelon has a similar system that can direct mount the same 3 footprints as the RXM; DPP, RMR and they say Shield which means RMSc. Their article stated "over 30 different optics" but that's an inflated way of saying the few major footprints as there's dozens for each. It can also mount ACRO or Doctor footprints with adapter plates. Not bad, Springfield. :)

OK since no one's said it you can say you saw if first here.
I'll take no credit, even though i came up with the names, while wandering into my local ffl (tombstone tactical in chino valley az) .

Instead of it called the RXM. I'm calling it the rugpul (for the lesbian market)

Or the MAGER! for the rest of us.

You read it first, here on GT

Don't forget to tip your waitress and try the veal.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow :ROFLMAO:

Will the Ruger take a Holosun? I’m not sure what the footprint is on those. Wonder if Ruger will sell threaded barrels? They sell 10/22 threaded barrels. Does Ruger make barrels or contract that out?
yes with the adapter plate (EPS) it's a drop in unit. Not sure about the 507's, since i wasn't going to start changing optics on the other pistols i have.

Ruger makes so many guns that I'd be surprised if they didn't make their own barrels.

There are dozens of companies already selling G19-compatible threaded barrels that will work with the RXM. If I wanted one I wouldn't wait for Ruger.

Nope, why wait. Get what you want now. There are hundreds if not thousands of different threaded barrels for a G19.

I bought mine from RK guns. $4.99 shipping to the store and no transfer fee if picked up there.
If you have one nearby that would solve those concerns.

The 507C uses the RMR footprint. So it will take that
