Finally did the Rit dye job on one of my RXMs. :) Followed instructions from @Damn_Yankee and worked out great.

Damn that looks good! Any truth in the roumour it's a Gen 3 Glock with an optic ready slide? Looks better than a Gen 3 Glock to me. How's the mag release?

It essentially is. I agree the look is better. Mag release is excellent; raised but also rounded off. Ruger nailed it on the RXM. The grip is also much better than a Gen 3 G19. Trigger is also better, similar to a Gen 3 trigger with a minus connector.

I wonder how permanent that dye job will be?
Supposedly very permanent. I would imagine as long as you don't expose it long term to solvents or sweat or something chemically volatile.

I intend to get at least the 17 round magazine grip size, so if the dye ever wears out, I'll put it on.

In addition, the RXM FCU will not work on a G26 slide so they are going to need a different FCU for the 26. They could have designed them to work with both.
This is the biggest indictment of the concept of an FCU. It's supposed to be "buy one FCU and all the slides and frames fit" but if you have to buy multiple FCUs, it's just ridiculous.

They get to sell more guns this way though. It could have been designed to run both so increased revenue is the only answer as to why not.

But then you would only need to buy one.

This indicates to me we'll never see a shorter slide length from Ruger for the RXM, then.

Unless they redesign their own slide to work with this FCU.

Yeah, it may just be a shorter grip and longer slide like a 19 short. Don’t worry, I can make into a real 26. Was about to order the frames and other parts I will need. While I’m at it, I may convert one of their compacts into a 19x since they are lollygagging on the frame release. Will look fantastic as a 47 type build. Think this one turned out pretty good.

Well...I pretty much figured on a 26L, Would have bought a module, Prefer a full size but, WTF, Just release the grip modules as marketed. Which is worse, 50/50 satisfaction or just nothing but crickets.
Yeah, maybe they are having an oh crap moment as they didn’t take into account the length of the 26 vs 19 slide, the need for the extra space between the rails, and the need for the FCU to be shorter. It would be a lot of grinding and cutting to make that work. More that I usually have to do. I can make it work but it would be a total pain.
