FedEx delivered Friday afternoon and I put the Overwatch trigger and connector in Friday night. I'd started out having polished the trigger bar, connector, striker lug and striker safety plunger, installed a Wolff rp plunger spring and 5lb striker spring resulting in a nice smooth 3.5lb trigger still with a long reach, long take up and reset and a trigger that was lighter than I personally want to carry. Yesterday I ran 60rds of 147gr AE and 15 of 147 HST. The set up is just what I was looking for. My #1 priority was shorter trigger reach which is approximately 5mm shorter (perfect) take up is considerably shorter, not crazy short but not at all like it was, significant improvement in reset and pull weight is 4.2 lb with very little deviation and trigger characteristics are what I was looking for, smooth, less rolling, more controllable. I do have a Wolff 5.5 striker spring that I may try but, What I have now is pretty much ideal for carry / all around use. +1 for Overwatch Precision!
Very nice write up. I'm gonna have to update the TOC for this and a couple cool posts. Yes @FrankenGunBuilder yours will be added :ROFLMAO:

Ok update

I go the Academy yesterday to get the RXM everything is fine chatting with the guy behind he counter while we wait for a manager to a make sure everything is alright and she looks at my ID and so "we can't sell you this gun". I had ordered the pistol online the day before and use the name Jim and my ID says James. She tells my they will have to cancel this sale ( I paid online) and it will take two days. I said no problems I can come back in two days and buy.

She said no we can sell you this gun today but I will have to pay at the register here an it will take two day to refund the original purchase to my card. I'm like ok and then jokingly said do I get a free case of ammo for my trouble? We all laughed she said no but what I can do is give you 20% discount off you order. I'm good with that and she says oh your using you Academy card that's 5% more so you get 25%. I walk out the door with a new RXM including tax $279. I'm a happy happy boy.

That's awesome! I'm always polite but assertive, if required, with customer service. If you're cool they'll almost always bend over backwards to help.

However, I need to report you, now .... YOU STOLE THAT RXM :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Not outside the realm of possibility. In fact, it could be likely given that virtually all gun companies (corporations in general for most products) just realize they can release half baked crap and have the buying public test it for them. Recalls, "voluntary upgrades", etc. I do disagree on lack of support. Ruger is probably the literal best in the industry for customer service and support.
I agree. Ruger has excellent customer service and support.

Sold my early-ish production RXM to apply the money toward a new G19.3. Really liked the RXM's grip angle. Swapping the RXM's RSA for a G19.3 RSA really helped with the resistance to limp-wristing failure to feed. Really hated that Magpul's Glock-compatible mags are inconsistent in manufacture and that if I used Glock magazines I could consistently induce failures to feed just by applying pressure to the bottom of the mag.

I really wanted it to work (I even sent it back to Ruger to replace the messed-up barrel), but the lack of Glock-like reliability killed it for me. I'll hold on to the spare parts I acquired because if the RXM is still on the market in a year or two maybe I'll give it another shot in the hope that they've quietly made running production changes.

The RXM is not really a Glock clone. Apparently it has just enough parts compatibility to get reviewers and media to call it a clone. The FCU takes away interchangeability with Glock frames, Glock locking blocks and Glock trigger housings. And what interchangeability does it add instead? Not much. Of course you can swap slides, but you can do that with any true Glock or actual Glock clone. So no benefit there. All you get is the PROMISE of future FCU compatible RXM frames. And now it seems that does not include G26 frames. They will need a NEW FCU. So you still need to buy a serialized part and pay an FFL fee. How stupid is that?

The RXM was supposed to be a clone of the Gen 3 Glock . The Gen 3 Glock has expired patents so anyone can make compatible parts. The RXM is just a mechanism to re-introduce patents to the Glock Gen 3 world. They did a slick marketing job of it, but this does not benefit you.

Funny you mention that. The only mags that reliably feed my built RXMs with no issues and ones you can’t create issues are the Magpul mags. I don’t typically use the Magpul mags but I ordered a bunch after I started building FrankenRugers and, like stated, are the only ones that work flawlessly in mine. Thought it may be the mag release but that was not the issue.

Yeah, I've had no serious or repeatable feed issues with Gen 5 Glock mags in my RXMs. I don't run JHP every time I go, but my early testing battery included a good grip of JHPs I use through each of them. I'm good. I never did press the bottom of the mag to see if it induced a failure, but I normally don't support or rest the pistol on anything whilst shooting.

Ive had no mag issues with Magpul or Glock 15/17 rd mags including with pressure on the mag
Agreed. I think some of us super early adopters got some of the early teething tolerances. That's what I chalk it up to.

Do I have utmost faith in my RXMs, even though they've had a burp or two? Yeah, I do.

I'm hearing from the more recent purchasers this type of solid reliability with all mag types, PMAGs and Glock.

The RXM never stated it "was supposed to be a clone of the Gen 3 Glock". Those are not Ruger's words, and that was never their intent!

It is NOT identical, so the word "clone" isn't correct, but Ruger clearly states it has an FCU, so you cannot blame Ruger or the RXM for others invoking the term "clone"!

And it is still a great value that offers advantages over a Glock at a lower price point that many of us value.

It does have a LOT of cross compatibility with Glock Gen3 guns, so even though some folks are calling it a "clone" in terms of general compatibility, if it is technically incorrect.

While "imitation" and "facsimile" are pretty good words, the proper term I would opt for would probably be "variant".

The RXM is a Gen3 Glock Variant...

I've been waiting on a good deal, Academy has the RXM on sale until 9/21 for $399 minus $50 so $349. I have an Academy card that give me another 5% so that makes the price $331 and change. Then I'll use a balance transfer to another card that has zero interest on balance transfers for 24 months.
I'm thinking I might has well get a Holosun red dot , what do you recommend. I was thinking either the 507K or the 407K.
My vote (with my dollars!) was for the Holosun 507c Green. You may want the k for the smaller size, but it is for 365/G43 width guns, and i think (am not positive) it will require an adapter plate for use with the wider RXM slide. The c is the full size optic sized for a G19/RXM slide width.

I went with the c. If you want the k for smaller carry size that is great, I am not trying to talk you out of it. I just wanted to ensure you knew exactly what you wanted and got what you were hoping for!

Here is my 507c Green on RXM:

Nice deal (nice steal!). The gun is a great value at normal price, and you saved $100 off of that! Amazing!!!
