Twice today I was able to add the od green magpul frame to my cart but was unable to check out.

I did pick up my rxm today, and was expecting to not like the factory stipple.

the stipple was as grippy as my g17 that I stippled myself.

I was thinking of cutting a frame down to g26 mag depth, but since it suffers from glock wide-as-hellness, I doubt it would see much if any real carry time.

I may still get a second frame, just because.

Yes, the grip texture is excellent. It's still a thiccC gun, but still feels better in hand than any Glock except the 43.

Should work. Glock store is (or was) selling the now discontinued G25 slides and two mags for $399.They said the slide would work on any gen 3 frame, or even a gen 5 frame if you swapped the slide cover plate to a gen 5 cover plate.
Picked up my new G25 yesterday ($411 couldn't pass it up) and the upper goes on RXM frame like it was made for it. All functions operate like they should, although I still need to check ejection.

It was made for it. That's what you get with all Gen 3 Glock clone 9mm slides. It's like milspec AR parts. The only real issues I've ever had were for the large frame guns and, in particular, the 10mm models. The aftermarket doesn't quite have this to milspec type production yet but it's not far off.

If I was buying a four figure 1911, I might care about this. For a <$400 utility SD pistol? Not so much. If it's reliable, accurate, and decently shootable, I'm good to go. This gun will do everything a G19 G5 MOS will do for $150 less. And most of it's parts are Glock compatible. Will Gen 3 Glock parts be available in 20 years? Likely.

When all is said and done, 10 years maybe longer down the line, who will be talking about the Ruger RXM ? Riger will have moved on through a couple more NEW and IMPROVED models with the latest and greatest features that everyone needs. I think, and hope, that Glock will still be manufacturing the Glock 19 gen xx., and still having all replacements parts available for all Models 19 gen 1 thru xx. That is what creates a true classic firearm. AND that is what makes a firearm appreciate in value as the years past by. If you have an original G19, you will be happy still.

You can order it black from magpul
Yeah, but he used the word "dyed" which kinda made it sound like a homebrew job rather then just dropping the $40 at Magpul or Ruger for a factory version.

If he did it himself, it looks good.

I used Rit Dye to dye the gray grip to black. Came out real nice . Took about 10 minutes to do.
Interesting. Thanks for the reply. It looks good in the pic.

Have you done that before with other polymer parts? I wonder how that will hold up with time.

(Although, I guess it doesn't matter since it would be pretty cost-effective to just do it again if need be).

I have done this once before on a Zev grip about a year ago. The grip has held up great. Still looks deep black. I have water boiling as I type this I am going to try and dye a FDE Mag extension to black.

Range Report #2 RXM #1 (gray grip) has about 1500 rounds so far and not one issue. RXM #2 (black dyed grip) about 500 rounds with this one and again no issues. I am sold on this platform. I can't wait until they release the 26 and 45 length grips. View attachment 1364548
Very nice! Glad to hear yours are running like mine, and that dye job looks good. Even the FDE extension looks sick!

Well, another update. The FDE Frame is here, and looks gooooood. I love the RXM, and this furthers that.

Also.... @Jason D :D

Grip chopped the grey frame...

However, I'm not sure I was supposed to do this, given how goofy it now looks. :ROFLMAO: I won't even show a picture of how it looked with a ten rounder or PMAG 12... It was... Not holy... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Rough cut with a dremel wheel, then used a dremel sanding wheel to slowly fit it. Thank god I couldn't find my bigger files that I used in past, wrapping sand paper around them. Taking time with a dremel was a godsend. I think it came out OK.
If I had flared the front any more internally, I just started beveling into the bottom of the mag release spring mold cutout.

I'll tell ya one thing, it handles about 100 times better than any 26. That's why I left the backstrap kinda long and goofy looking. It looks decent here, though. :)

Anyway, I'll probably live fire test a mag or two through it, but it's gonna be the FDE RXM for the long term.

While Glock has done fantastic, there are so many third party parts for the Gen 3 from numerous providers, that worrying about that drying up is similar to worrying about finding parts for your AR if Colt were to go bankrupt (oh, wait... :p). The parts will be there.

As for appreciation, Glock hasn't done that for me. They do hold value (not "new" price, but the "used" floor price is consistent). In fact, after inflation over decades, it is stunning that buying a Glock today costs almost exactly the same as it did twenty-five years ago! They have not appreciated in value, they have flatlined. That is great in terms of knowing what your Glock will be worth in two, five, fifteen years, etc., but is decidedly bad for Glock. They NEED people to buy new, and selling new guns at decades old prices means they either slashed costs or are losing margins! And competing against old guns is a painful reality of the gun business (one that cell phones, computers, washing machines, and automobiles do not share... their products are doomed to replacement in three to ten years, creating a whole new marketplace of future sales!).
