Yes, your assessments are on point. The frame is amazing, but I don't see mag release coming for lefties. Trigger is about on par with a Gen 5, and the reset is a bit longer than I'd want; I can still get what I call fast as I can accurately shoot, though. I also prefer like a 3 white dot night sight or just 3 white dot sight setup, but this new blacked out rear sight crap is all the rage, so it's what's more than likely becoming standard. o_O :ROFLMAO:
The blacked out rear is not really a new fad. More of a return to a basic setup.
I still remember a time before 3 dots or fiber optic. And people did just fine with them. It’s good to have choices. I prefer plain rear and a green faced front with tritium. That being said 3 dots are fine if that’s what it came with. But I hate fiber optics. With a passion. I like the sights on the Ruger except the height.

Thank you for this thread and very much looking forward to updates from you! As I read through the comments I noticed my own Glock bias in them and I swore I would never be "that guy." I am very excited for RXM and can't wait for my range to get one so I can take it for a test drive. I am a Glock guy but was a Ruger guy first so please keep posting updates and thank you again!

Absolutely! I, and others here, do it just so people can have a little more to the point and detailed information. No, the irony is not lost on me, that I'm so damn long winded :D However, the degree of detail is what I mean when I say to the point. Many people want to know these types of things when considering their next firearm. So, enjoy! :)

Yes, the 230/232 is truly one of most beautiful designed and finished guns that I've ever seen.
Yeah, that thing really is remarkably beautiful for a handgun.

I am happy to report that my RXM has had no issues after 750 rounds. 500 rounds mix of Blazer Brass 115 and 124 and 250 of Federal HST 124 hollow points. Not a single malfunction. Shot the RXM right out of the box without cleaning and only applied a little oil every 250 rounds. I am sold on the RXM and I am looking forward to getting a 2nd one. My inexpensive ($80) Hexion Tech Red Dot worked perfect too.

Very nice! Thank you for joining and adding your input and data point! Welcome to GT my friend! :)

Got my RXM Slide & Barrel back from Ruger (Or, more accurately, a new slide and barrel). Total turnaround time was 2 weeks.

Not too shabby, though I would have preferred to have more (any?) communication, like a notice they were sending it out!

Mounted a Swampfox Liberty I got from PSA on sale, but I don't know if I will bother with a light for this one or not.

Please let us know how it shoots!

Does the RXM have a grip angle that is closer to a 1911? I was curious if it had better pointability than the Glock 19? I have heard that the Lone Wolf frames were like this and I just wondered if this was something that Magpul address when making this frame.

I have both, and 1911's (AMH's) as well, and they all point the same for me when I shoot them that way.

The RXM and 19 both have red dots on them and the dot's pop right up in the window when the guns are presented, be it one handed or two handed, without having to shift anything or look for the dot.

Ya not a new “fad” at all.
A highlighted front sight only has been the set up since flintlock pistols.
Often a gold, silver or bras bead on the front sight.
If anything, the 3 dot sights are a fading fad!
I for one am glad.
Focus should be on the front sight!

With the RXM, since they went with the higher suppressor height sights, I think they would have been better off not putting a dot, lit or not on the front sight. Since with a red dot, its just more of a distraction than anything else.

I know that the night sight front dot with a plain rear sight is popular these days, but if youre going to bother going with dots/night sights, the three dots make the most sense, as they give you both horizontal as well as vertical alignment and allow better precision in any light.

I agree with half your post.
Only the front sight needs to be highlighted.

Its all what youre accustomed to and used to shooting with. Ive been shooting with three dots since before they were lit and having tried many of the other set ups, haven't found anything to beat them.

The single dot is fine for a quick rough flash alignment up close, but beyond that, if you want any precision, you need to be able to align the sights.

With my iron sighted guns, I use the dots out to about 10-15 yards before I start to transition into a more traditional sight picture.

And with three dots and a suppressor, you don't need suppressor height sights. You can just shoot "through" the can.

If you are doing target focus like you should with a dot, the front sight won't be there

Well whatever works for you.
That’s always the bottom line.
I agree with not needing the suppressor height sights.
If you’ve got a dot it’s a distraction as mentioned.

Depends on the lighting and the size of the dot and/or its outline ring in the front sight. Generally, you don't see the irons at all, dot on not on them, unless something becomes "different".

I have a set of Ameriglo sights on my 45 that has a small night sight insert with no ring and its not a distraction at all, in any light.

The Rugers have a larger insert with a bright white ring around it, and it stands out, especially with a bright light overhead and/or at your back, and you see the red dot and the white dot under it, and its very obvious its there.

The red dot has your attention, but in some light, that white dot is also there and quite noticeable, where it isn't when the light isn't on it.

Like with the long guns, its nice to have the BUIS with the red dot, but in reality, they arent needed, and even if the dot were to go out, at most realistic handgun distances, you really don't need the sights to make reasonably good hits anyway, especially if you're accustomed to shooting with the dot and/or point shooting with the irons.
