Most of my handguns are Glock. I did buy a Sig 320C a couple of months ago because I want to go to the Sig armorer's class this summer and I want to be familiar. I have had several students who were bringing the 320, Hellcat and Sig 356 to classes so I decided to acquire a few other non-Glocks in order to be more knowledgeable with my students when working one on one.
So Saturday I bought a Hellcat Pro. It was a promotional deal that included a range bag and 5 magazines for $620. I have had a positive experience with Springfield in the past, completing the NRA Winchester Challenge with a XDM 9mm 5 years ago.
Got to the range today and was impressed. The grip circumference is smaller than I'm accustom to and it naturally puts too much finger in the trigger guard. When I tried to pull some trigger finger out, I had to make an effort not to push left(I'm RH) but after a few rounds I was able to make the proper adjustments. I have the same situation when shooting my 43X. After 50 rounds I was able to leave one ragged hole where the bullseye was at 25'. I ran 150 through it and called it a day.
I had watched a few videos reviews and most reviewers really cried about how horrible the trigger was. I didn't find that to be true at all with this pistol. The trigger was better out of the box than most of my Glocks. It will probably smooth out even more with use. The only noticeably better trigger right out of the box recently was the Sig 320C. It was impressive. Short take-up, crisp break and short reset. Next on my list is a Sig 365XL.
