Curious as to what people think the smoothest and flattest shooting 9mm double stack pistols, that one can buy today, are.

As to not have everyone name a $5k pistol that few can/would buy,😶 let's cap the price at $3k (New or used) and something that one can find and purchase without searching for years. 🤣

Flattest shooting would be a characteristic of the bullet. All ammunition has a ballistic curve. As soon as it leaves the barrel, gravity takes over. Felt recoil is objective and depends on the interface between the shooter and the gun. Best thing is to shoot several by renting them at ranges and seeing which feels best to you.

The smoothest shooting gun will not necessarily be the flattest shooting gun. But the heavier the gun, less recoil it will have, and the higher the veliocity with medium weight projectiles, the flatter shooting it will be. The 357 Sig with 125 grain bullets is flatter shooting than a 9mm shooting the same bullet weight and is fun to shoot at long ranges in an accurate gun.

Lighter bullets will go faster but will also shed velocity faster at longer ranges

Since @bac1023 voted for a Pardini, that's probably it for a non race gun.

But a 9mm Open Race gun used in Bianchi or 3Gun is going to be flatter. The few I've shot, you can see the bullet fly through, or into the target.

Steyr L9 A1 if we are talking obtainable ones lol Is second BAC's motion if I was rich.. Thats a great gun one of the few ive shot that are super nice(a guy at the shooting club is a Pardini guy) ive shot the Olympic/Competition type .22's all the way up to his 9mm and .45(5") .. I almost bought one of his pardini .22's before I got the S&W model 41.. So if I could just have one for target/range pardini but it would be a dream just more $$ than i spend on gins..realistic..the Steyr..i can afford that
