Is a Korth revolver in .357 Mag AND 9mm worth it for $4,400?

It is used but is in like new condition. It is said to have fired only 3 rounds. It is the Korth Mongoose

I have found it online for $3,699 at Nighthawk Custom. But it doesn't include the 9mm kit. This used one for sale does.

What say you?

The 9mm/.357 convertible makes it more appealing to me but I do know that those two (3 w/.38) calibers can have accuracy issues with the 9mm. Maybe Korth splits the baby down the middle. A 3 incher would be more appealing to me for carry. I don't need a longer barrel for accuracy. I know I can't shoot better than what a Glock or similar can do. Twenty years ago when my eyes and attention span were better, maybe.

I have handled those and the Korth pistols as well.

They are as fine machined as anything ever can be made.
Really more pieces of art, than crafmanship.

But are they "worth" it by any means?
Will they shoot better than a good tuned S&W? No.

So it is up to you.

If you want the maximum of brilliance which can be done (in my opinion), so yes, they are worth it, because there is no other revolver around which can hold up to them.

But if you just want a good six-shooter, you may pay to much.

Just my 2 cents.

How do you know? Do you own a Korth? Bac may know. He owns them, I am sure. I don't know that he shoots them or Smiths enough rounds to know if they are going to "shoot loose". I shoot quite a little bit and have not shot a Smith loose yet.

If money is no object, I’m sure they are worth it. I don’t know personally, but I trust the word of a few specific people who vouch for how good they are.

But for me, a S&W or Ruger will do all I’m capable of doing with a handgun.

Is a revolver worth $_?

CDW4ME opinion warning - revolver advocates stop reading before its too late.

If you like revolvers, last chance to turn back, abort.

If you like revolvers and are still here, your fault, not mine...
Revolvers are capacity deficient.
I'd rather defend myself with a Glock (Sig 365) than any revolver. (I ain't shooting through coat pockets in FL)
Pocket carry: Sig 365 / Glock 43 / Kahr PM9 > revolver
Self defense against human attackers: Glock 19/22/29/30 (ect...) > revolver
Self defense against bears: Glock 29/20 > revolver
Our ;) conclusion: Excluding resale value, any revolver is worth less than a Glock

I have read many good things abouttheseguns and have Not read and bad reviews and I'm sure they are very well made Weapons! But IMO, I can't Believe that they are worth that amount of money or are that much better than S&W or Ruger Firearms! Yes they have a Great History and Reputation and maybe If I ever Win the Lottery, I just might buy one! Ha Ha!

I have that exact Korth with both cylinders. The only accuracy issues it has is that it is so accurate it leaves no excuses for the shooter. If you can't feel the difference in triggers between it and a S&W your hand is paralyzed. Not only is the trigger vastly better but it can be adjusted according to how you like it to break.
It's one major downside is that it really has to be cleaned thoroughly. My reloads are filthy and can get powder into places it shouldn't. If it gets dirty enough the cylinder can completely bind and it will be locked up until it's clean. One more minor downside is that it comes with rubber grips and you can expect to pay around $300 for the grips it should have come with. But you know that going in, so it's no fault on Korth.
So is it worth it? For me it was and I enjoy shooting it as much or more than any handgun I own. But I wouldn't miss a meal or car payment to get one.

I bought a S&W Model 14 and had Marc Morganti/Gemini Customs do an action job on it. I have about $450 total in it, including putting on wood grips to replace the Pachmayrs. No charge for the gunsmithing work.
