Hi Guys,

For those with cutaways please share as much of the SN as you're comfortable with and I'll post a list. This way we can see the generational and model number changes.

Please feel free to pm me with complete SNs. I'll just add the data w/no names of course. I promise anyone who does so that I will NEVER disclose that you have the particular gun.

If you reply to this thread I'll go back and edit the list so that it's easy to follow.

This is from another thread where I posted some info that I got from Stan:

"I spoke w/Stan. He was able to find the info on these which he got from Glock. Here's the deal:

There were two runs of Gen 1 17 Cutaways.

Run #1: JQ018-JQ027 imported 1/28/88. They went to Glock sales guys.

Run #2: JQ100 - JQ179 imported 5/4/89. You have the first gun of the second run.

Thus, as I had remembered correctly, there were 90 made.

Re the AT guns:

Stan says early Glock sales guy Peter Tarley made two (he thinks) himself to demo. This guns don't show as much as the factory ones. Gaston liked the idea. They led to the first Gen 1s. Glock has one of the ATs."

Based on this, I have to assume that Stan was only referring to/only had info on US imported ones.


AT002US - Gen 1 17. At Cody on loan from Glock. 1st CA. Manually cut by Mr. Glock and Mr. Hirschheiter.

Okay, just checked all of mine again. Those with three numbers after the JQ also end in 'US'. Those that have four numbers do not.

A local shop here had one as well. I kept working on them every time I was there. Even offered to give them a brand new Gen 4 G19 cutaway in a swap. They wouldn't go for it. Eventually, I found a Gen 2 elsewhere.

I've gotten a lot of data for less than 24 hours. Thanks guys!! Starting to be able to get a feel for generational cut offs, numbers per generation, etc.

I will add that I have a gen 3 19 SN JQ2950... So the 3s and 4s obviously overlap. Have a gen 4 on the way.

Not to go too far into the weeds, but the early Gen 2s have a model number stamped on the trigger guards.
