The extended mags get you 15 rounds. Like you, I don’t understand the appeal of larger micro-9s. Especially if it’s to shave .2 inches off the width of a gun and nothing else.
Seems counterproductive. 🤷‍♂️

I own full size CZ 75 variants that I can carry with 19 round mags if more capacity is what one seeks.

On the flip side, choices are good!

Just got an email from Vedder holsters that they have holsters for this new FN gun I hadn't heard anything about. Was going to start a thread and found this one.

Did a YT search for videos & reviews and found one single hit. From Vedder.

Does the front fall off this one if you shoot it too?

Was it the front sight falling off or the whole slide shooting off, Glock-style?

 

I admit that I wasn't expecting that!

 

I've been considering a 545 but that does not give me much confidence in their polymer formula.

Nor does it inspire me to swap my P365 for a Reflex which I'm occasionally tempted to consider.

 

While the Reflex and new HK micro9 look appealing, the P365 and P365 Xmacro along with the G43x and G48 already lying around here in a bag somewhere perform so well there's no compelling reason to branch out to other micro9 offerings. Love my FN 509cc Edge and 502 though!

 

I have the OG Reflex. Mine has been pretty awesome. I can't give a quantitative reason, but I never cared for the P365. I dont' think I have a need for an XL version of the Reflex though. I'd probably just go to one of my other carry guns at that point. I am waiting to see the HK micro offering though.

 

I probably won’t buy it, but if I did, I’m sure it would suits my needs just fine.

 

I didn’t know FN made a removable dust cover, and undercut trigger guard.

 

I would like to think that Vedder screwed up and released their email & YT video too early which could explain why none of the other guntubers are flooding the internet with their obligatory praises.

But FN has it listed on their website now which suggests they intended their debut to unfold this way...??? Seems pretty lackluster.

Maybe when they saw the Vedder email go out, they scrambled to update the website so people getting the email wouldn't be completely confused. 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Weird. They're already at the back of the pack of Micro pistols behind probably every other company that makes one. At least HK came out with a splash of videos and impressive claims about how they spent 75 years and 750 gazillion test rounds fired to make their gun super-awesome. If FN wants to compete with all the slimlines (P365 variants, Hellcat Pro, Glocks, etc), you'd think they'd do a little more than have a holster company drop a pretty mundane video. At least get Sootch to take some cool slo-mo vids of it being shot and say how it's his favorite gun ever (until his next review).

 

Also interesting is the pistol height listed on FN's website. 5.2 inches.

That's not only taller than the Hellcat Pro, it's taller than a G43X.

5.2" is the same height as the 17+1 P365 Macro. That's halfway between a G19 and a G17.

Any number of folks don't like carrying a gun that height.

Do they want to sell any of these things or not? Does FN have a marketing department? If so, does the marketing department know that they just released a new gun?
