Double Diamond Barrels?

I currently have a Glock 20sf and was going to get a stainless barrel for it. I was looking at the KKM barrels but recently discovered Double Diamond on the glockstore. Has anyone had experience with Double Diamond? Reasons for one over the other?

My honest and humble suggestion is kkm over the double diamond. I just find anything that lenny mc gill sells crappy quality. Just look at the ss80 drama. Stick with docent companies. Granted glockstore as been around for a while but I dont get a good vibe with the double diamond stuff stick with kkm and other well known and respected companies. This is my two cents no vendetta against glockstore at all.

Just look on you tube and see it's like everything that he peddles is for sure going to make u a better shooter lol. Plus I feel he way over charges on stuff big time. You might wanna also check out lone wolf. I am thinking about getting one of their barrels for my 20 in the future but we shall see.

I have a stainless .40 S&W
DD barrel for my G31. I've only shot 100 rounds through it. My initial impression was not good. Wildly inaccurate and didn't want to feed with the .357 Sig mags. This was with the 180g Blazer Brass black pack ammo. I need to get back to the range and bring both barrels to insure it's not anything to do with the gun. I don't remember having any issues with the .357 Sig ammo and factory barrel.

Same response from me as I gave for the Wheaton query. I am not familiar with this brand, but my KKM in my Gen3 G20sf works perfectly. I would choose the reputable brand (KKM) unless a compelling argument exists that would dictate otherwise. If you happen to get either of the lesser-known barrels, please post back and let us know what you learn.

No drop in barrel will be anymore accurate than the OEM. If you want to improve your accuracy, get an over sized barrel and have a gunsmith hand fit it. Then finish chamber ream the barrel to your exact hand load. If you just want to shoot lead, because cut rifling SS barrels clean up much easier, then get a Lone Wolf.

Gotta Go with I DISAGREE on this one, my G40 and G41 both improved with after market barrels (and I had 3 people shoot the gun with each barrel) with the same box of factory ammor for the g40 in 10mm and the G41 with .45acp... the 10mm is an alpha wolf and the 45 is a KKM no preferernce but both pattern better than the stock glock barrels

Didn't you just post the same thing about KKM vs. Wheaton Arms?

Are you asking these questions for some reason, like trying to generate publicity for KKM, or does "should I choose an unknown brand over one of the top brands we all know?" make sense to you?

I appreciate it. Iv heard nothing but good about KKM barrels and absolutly nothing on double diamond.... yet....
Yet what? If it's a serious question, it's a pretty dumb one. "Should I pay more for an unknown company's barrel than for a well-known KKM, just because some retailer said it looks cool?"

I have no experience with the DD barrels. I have used the Lone Wolf and KKM barrels, they are good to go.

Now for my personal experience with the Glock Store.

I tried ordering some parts from them back in June as they were showing in stock. 2 months later and I still did not have my parts or any word when I would get them. My card got charged at the time I placed my order even though they evidently did not have what I wanted in stock (even though it showed in stock). I ended up cancelling my order. And I am not the only one to have this happen to them. Some guys have waited close to 6 months.

On the SS80 frames and issues.

I have built one of the SS80 frames. The issue with it is that the front locking block does not have a pin in the front like on the Polymer 80 frames. With the lack of the front pin, the locking block rail can tilt/ride up while shooting the pistol. Some guys have went as far at drilling and tapping the frame and front block for set screws to prevent tilt. I haven't had any issues with mine, but the block was a very snug fit into the frame.

I have found DD to be inaccurate. I dropped in a .40 G23 DD barrel in my G32 and couldnt hit a 12 inch gong at 15 yards with it. Unless you count 1 out of 2 13rd mags, which I dont. It was that bad. Even a second shooter nearby had trouble landing hits with it. Sold it online and bought a Storm Lake stainless G23 barrel. Never had that problem again.

Have KKM conversion to 357 Sig for my Glock 35. Great barrel. Bought a DD 40 S&W barrel for the fully supported chamber and to have the option to shoot hard cast lead if I ever run out of factory ammo. Less than 100 rounds through and the chamber came apart. Top of chamber blew off. No squib in barrel, no over pressure rounds, factory only. Pretty scary, lucky no injuries sustained. Have to wonder about the quality of the metal used and the quality control of the manufacturer. I’m understandably reluctant to try DD ever again.

I guess I am one of those that did not check any reviews before I bought a couple of the DD barrels. One for my G26 and one for my G43, and both have been fine, and grouped better than my worn out or lead fouled one in my G26. My G26 barrel was toast, even after extensive dunking in lead remover. It had a lot of mileage on it, and the DD was on their site and seemed cheap enough, I bought one. Been good.
