There is nothing wrong/unsafe with AIWB carry…the most concealable of all CCW options when done right; correct holster and handgun combo. I’ve been carrying that way for 35 + years along with many of my friends and co-workers. I prefer to use a Werkz AIWB holster placed within a Smart Carry, which is extremely comfortable considering the size/types of handguns I carry. The OP is correct in that the Werkz holster is comfortable but I haven’t used the version with the magazine attached. I may try it though. The worst thing a CCW person can do is to get stuck on one, or maybe their original choice of style/type of equipment, for concealed carry when current innovations allow for better and more concealable options.

The Werkz holster fits inside the Smart Carry rear pouch…it allows for you to position your carry gun lower than just using the holster attached to your belt. The combo pads the harsh edges of the kydex. It’s usefulness depends on your body style and carry preferences…the lower the gun sits the more concealable but the downside is the draw is much slower.

Never worn a combo like that aside from the Phlster Enigma, but that’s a different t beast all together. Seems like if it’s clipped to the belt and pants getting the buttons and fly open enough to drop trousers would be very difficult. Not a fan of having to remove my gun and put it some place when not at home.

Have you tried just the holster and put the spare mag some place else, like say traditional 8-9 o’clock or even a neomag in the pocket? Would allow you to undo belt, have enough flexibility to pull pants down enough to sit and do business.

As mentioned by Taz above, the PHlster Enigma is a system for appendix carry that involves a belt separate from your pants belt. This obviously allows you to drop your pants without lowering your gun. It also allows you to carry above or below your belt line if that carries better for you and it allows for carry with sweats, basketball shorts, scrubs, etc.

They have a pretty active Facebook group where you will find people of all body sizes/shapes sharing how they carry.

I bought one recently but I don’t yet have a lot of experience with it.

The rig in the OP’s picture looks a little complicated to me. Especially in a dash to “la toilette”.

I use mostly a Vedder RapidTuck, but sometimes a Vedder LightTuck in more wintry weather. I ditched my go-to standard Carrhart leather belt with a buckle and bought a new Vedder V3 nylon belt with the quick release buckle.

If a bathroom “emergency” arises, the gun and holster assembly comes off with right thumb and index finger in an instant. Then it’s a simple release of the belt, and I’m off to the races…..

As for a spare mag? I normally don’t carry one. If I do, it slides into my weak side front pocket.

Is that the light tuck? That's my favorite.

The holster by itself works perfectly fine for a dump and go with a separate mag pouch.

Looks interesting

thanks, I'll look at those, does that belt use velcro for the quick release?

Looks like an awfully big ISPC race gun set up, not an everyday ccw.
not sure who you are referring to but if to me pretty sure lots of people EDC a G19 sized gun, or bigger.

To the OP, with the Vedder V3, you make an initial adjustment for your waist size with Velcro. Then to remove the belt you use it’s quick release.

If you look closely, you’ll see the slotted quick release…..

Oh, and Vedder has a 25% off all gun belts going on right now!
