So once again, I'm in a dilemma, in big part because of this damn state. The short of it: there's a measure that's in court, and a ruling is supposed to be out probably around Thanksgiving. If the judge finds in our favor (likely), then it will get appealed to the State Supreme Court, which will find in favor of the state, and that means no more gun sales in Oregon without a permit, which you can't get for a host of reasons. How long it takes to get appealed is anyone's guess, and there's not even a guarantee that the Judge will find in our favor. But it's looking likely.
I've got my bills paid, and I've got a gun budget for the month. Preferably, I don't want to go above $700.....that leaves me enough money for any unforeseen things that might come up. $800 is pushing it, but doable.
I REALLY want two guns, but I can't afford both right now with my current budget. In no particular order, I want either a new Colt 1911 Government Model, either a Competition Series, or a Classic Series. Or a Ruger New Super Blackhawk 7.5" in .44 Mag. Those are my two immediate wants. No reasons other than wants and for plinking purposes. And yes, I can afford the .44 mag ammo for how often I shoot. No, I do not reload, nor do I have the facilities to do it, nor the desire to learn how, thanks.
My backup plan was to just settle for a TISAS for $300-$400, and MAYBE throw in a Ruger 10/22 as well. Which is fine because I wanted a TISAS anyways, but I would prefer the Colt. That way I save money to add to next month's gun budget, if this measure doesn't go through. Or, perhaps get a Springfield Armory Garrison, but I'm not a fan of the logos on the slides. Not a huge deal breaker, but slightly annoying nonetheless.
So what should I do? No other gun suggestions please, I've got the ones I want for now. But these ones escape me so far.
Thanks folks.
