It’s tempting. Almost too good to be true with the free hazmat and shipping?

I’m doing a little research on this company before I give them my credit card info but I might be in for 5k. Even if they have a 1-2% failure rate it will be the best deal I’ve seen on primers since before covid.

American Reloading is legit. Their inventory typically turns over very quickly, so if you see something that you want, don't hesitate! Factory second primers? I'm not certain that I'm that desperate for primers.

I've given up on that vender. Last batch of .357 bullets were a mix of .355 to .357 and an absolute nightmare of tapping out squib bullets. No more for me.
I have not ordered from American Reloading. But I have a friend who has ordered a lot. Sang their praises about shooting hollow point pulls for less than FMJ anywhere else. Then the QC issues started. He realized the lots were becoming too mixed and damaged to be worth the time and trouble to make loads. So he no longer orders from them.

Factory seconds primers which may not seat/fire on first strike? It should be ok if you dont mind clearing a malfunction practice. But with what I said about my friends experience above where is the line that the quality shifts? When do you go from 1-2% failure rate to 10-20% failure rate?

If you're ok with that gamble they are safe to order from.

I've bought from them A LOT of timea over the years and have had good luck. Last time I ordered, however in early January 2025 they never shipped my order. After three weeks I contacted them and they refunded my order with no issues. I did jump on this deal as my SPP supply is getting a little low. I ordered on 5/29 and haven't heard anything about shipping yet. We'll see what happens.

I bought 10,000 small pistol/5000 small rifle Unis Ginex primers from American Reloading. Had free shipping/free hazmat. They shipped quick and have ordered pulled/blem bullets from them since. One has to remember, as I understand their marketing module, they demil ammo and part out the components. Are all the bullets the same weight/length? Probably not. I presort the bullets to ease the seating process. For the prices they charge and with free shipping, I'm okay with that. I am not expecting 1st quality. Did order some 7mm/08 Hornady blems in 139/154gr that looked and loaded like first quality bullets however. Got 500 of each for same or less than 100 in Hornady boxes. Just recently ordered 165/180gr plated 40/10mm cal bullets and pleased with purchase. YMMV

Factory Seconds – Nickel Plated – May contain visual defects, no effect on performance – Tall primer may result in hang up on primer feeding devices, no effect on performance – Hard Primer, could result in very low frequency misfires (NATO Spec)

Don't know about NATO spec small pistol primers made in America, but I have used Servicios y Aventuras NATO primers (normally $45 per K). "Tall" primers, whatever that means, if there is no effect on performance, I would say they may not feed well in auto filling primer devices, like the Dillon RF 100. You can always put in a 6lb firing pin spring if you get light strikes, although them most common cause is high primers (not completely seated). =

At $38 per K delivered, probably well worth a try. Don't know they get by without HazMat.

How does bullet diameter cause a squib? That's allmost always no powder, or the powder transfer bar picked up debris and is dropping half of what it should.

I also ordered 5k of the factory seconds SPP on 5/29 and like tbone2, I haven't heard anything about shipping yet. I'll give them a few more days before I contact them to see what is happening.
I just placed an order for 5k of the "factory seconds" small pistol primers. Got a notice from them that the order is confirmed - but that may be automated.

I emailed them yesterday and asked if they had a timeline for shipping. This was their reply today:

Our apologies for the delay on your primers. Those should be shipping out early next week at the latest, and you should receive an email with tracking.

At least they responded quickly so hopefully they are accurate on this timeline.

I bought mine several months ago.
used about 3 K and have had several not go bang. like 8 to 10 ( website warned of this )
Problem frequency has increased recently so batch quality may vary.
Stock Glock and springs

Costs about 3 seconds or more per failure to clear on the timer.
They seat easily compared to some others.

So, if you are buying “seconds” with some higher risk of not going bang ……. What are you going to use them for? Range only?
So ….. prime powder…… prime (ish) brass, Prime Bullets, and seconds for Primers that means the whole cartridge is now a second. Doesn’t seem like a good trade off.
