Well, I fell for it, or the marketing, or the "gotta have it" or whatever, and I'm gonna guinea pig it for GT. I went and had a look at it, and I will say, I'm impressed. Walked out having purchased it for $395.99. Please enjoy the thread, all commentary positive, neutral, and negative welcome. I don't care if you like or dislike the new RXM, I'd still like to hear. I hope this will become the new thread for this thing moving forward, here on GT.

I got a host of pics here for you guys, and please request any additional pics. I wanted to really see the FCU, and all that.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Grip feels better than a Gen 3 19, but still large, but feels good. Fit and finish, especially machining of the slide is immaculate, and very consistent. Smooth nitride finish, similar to my favorite S&W Armornite or whatever the hell they call it.
GRIP: Grip texture is perfect. I mean that, Magpul nailed it. Undercut is minimal, but feels great. Backstrap is consistent radius, and minimal beavertail. Trigger guard is rounded, no texture on front of it, doesn't matter to me. ETA: Forgot to add, nicely molded in integrated flared magwell. Visually unobtrusive, but functionally there if you gotta have one. Nice to have.

Image

CONTROLS: Are nice and extended just enough. Style language is a bit new to me, but I'm pretty happy with it.
Image

TRIGGER: Like a Gen 3 Glock, but it's just a hair nicer. Reset is stronger, but a little longer, by sev than my G19.3. I wonder if it's a Ruger "minus" connector, but time will tell. Kinda flat faced, kinda not. I'm not confirmation biasing myself to death, but it's one of the nicest trigger shoes on a plastic gun yet, IMO.
Image

SIGHTS: Blacked out serrated rear, and Tritium white outline front. Suppressor/optics height, but still fit the gun nicely even without an optic.
ETA: Tritium glow isn't bad, but could be brighter. I'm used to Truglos which are nearly bright enough to read by in a dark room.

OPTICS CUT: Haven't taken the plate off, no need yet, but it's designed to fit 3 different patterns: RMR, DPP, RMSc with no plates required. I'll get a pic soon and edit the thread, here.
FCU: Intriguing. I was very curious as to how they did this, and it's looking pretty cool.

I hope to actually get out and shoot it soon, perhaps tomorrow, if time permits. Regardless of how it performs, I decided to get on board early with this one. Even if it does have issues, which I hope Ruger realizes a solid launch is critical, I know Ruger will have our back and make it right whatever it takes. If it shoots anything like my Gen 3 Glock 19, but improved, I think it's gonna be winner.

I thought at first it was a Dagger. Is gray the only choice?
For now, yes, grey is the option. However, rumors of 17 and 26 frames and photos of different colors are already circulating. If Ruger does this right, offers slides and grip module options for decent prices SIG, then this could be a hit. Ruger offered Max 9 complete slides for a very competitive price, so I'm optimistic.

As far as the Dagger, yeah, it does kinda. I wanted to mess around with a Dagger, but never did pull the trigger on one, due to its pretty serious initial teething issues, after a years long delay after delay wait. This was $100 more for the OR version, and I do trust Ruger. Not their budget stuff like the Security 9, but I'm hoping this one brings Ruger back.

This is as close as Ruger has gotten to reviving the SR series, being a Glock clone internally, which the SR series largely was. I still wish they'd done that, but I'm a Ruger guy, so I'm on board.

Congrats. If it runs reliably, it’s an attractive, affordable option for gun buyers and that’s a good thing. When I started buying handguns, I wish I had the options available to gun buyers today. The quality and reliability differences between price ranges back then were significant. Today, however, we have plenty of options

At this point, I’m pot-committed to GLOCKs for my striker-fired handgun needs and probably won’t venture into other brands. There are a few guns that have come along that, if I was still collecting guns, I would try such as the Springfield Echelon, and Kimber R7 Mako. I’d probably talk myself into a number of the GLOCK clones too. The RMX has features people want, hits a nice price point, and is based on a proven design. Enjoy!

Absolutely. As I said, I'm gonna go into it as objectively as I can. I am leery about using the PMAGs as actual carry, JHP loaded mags. Most swear by them, others say range only. Magpul and Ruger are fully committed, as it comes with the thing, and their names are literally all over everything. :D

I hope someone puts a lot of rounds through one to see how the barrel holds up. The only info I found states “alloy steel,” but that doesn’t tell me much.

The complaints I’ve read about the PMAGs with GLOCKs over the years mostly involved failing to lock open the slide. Some folks swear by them, but I’ve always used GLOCK OEM because they’re affordable and I know what I can expect.

Congrats....please post a range report.
I absolutely will. Already got the first range trip planned. 3 mags of JHP carry, 200 rounds of ball ammo, another 3 mags of JHP. I hope I can go soon.

Well, it may be one of my main shooters, if all goes well. Amazing in hand, and I love the way my 19 and 17 shoot. I haven't shot my new to me 19X, either, so I'm gonna see what all the rave hype is about.

I will be exclusively running the PMAGs with it, as it's what they included. Like I said, Ruger and Magpul are staking their rep on this combination, so it should run as delivered. I'm certain OEM Glock mags would only be better, so I'm not worried about testing those.

This is a deal killer for me and it's on both sides of the frame. Surprised the top of the slide doesn't say point this way with an arrow.

Fair enough :ROFLMAO: I know that crap bugs some people, but to me, it's as silly as my disdain for the forward slide serrations on Gen 5 Glocks. Not giving you flak, just agreeing on the point that some people just don't like certain things on their firearms. It affects that "style language" I mentioned.

The arrow would be hilarious :ROFLMAO:

You know it went to legal to sign off on excluding the "safety arrow." 😄

Would be the first thing I addressed and removed.

347. Today in email sale
Shipping, transfer, etc. I'm not worried about it. If it hits $299-349 in retail stores one day, which it might, I'd be bummed. If it drops to that, that overpriced Security 9 still going for $299 in most cases, storefronts, should DROP.

Intentional. If they didn't remove the exact same amount of material from the left side of the frame, the pistol would be unbalanced and new shooters might have a problem with shooting to the left.

Thank you for this review. This is why I consider GT a top gun website because members share their experiences.

Yet another cheap Glock clone.

Its always hilarious here to see folks claim that Glock needs new innovations yet Glock’s design is copied continuously by other firearms manufacturers and upstart companies (generally quick to fail).
You're not wrong. However, in the past, I don't recall crapping too hard on Gen 3 double stacks. I always said their ergos could be improved, but I believe that's it. I typically always crap on the Glock 43 mag issue :ROFLMAO:
