Won a pistol at a gssf match. I have yet to own a plain 17. (I got a 17C.4 earlier in the year that is a collector piece now.)

My Glock 26 is 15y+ old nowadays.

Either will probably just be gssf competition guns. All other roles are taken care of. IE Concealed carry, night stand gun, steel challenge gun, ect.

I reiterate. Both will just likely be gssf competition guns.

I already have g34s. So no need for more. Yet.

Love both, had both, still have the G26. In the G17 I love the big grip, easy to access. In the G26, much easier to conceal (of course) and it uses the G19/G17, and yes, the G18 fun mags, and all in between (24 round mags too). If ever on a battlefield (hope not), if I come across those mags, I can use them, in my G17, not so much...........

I voted for the 26 because I shoot it better than the 17 which never worked for me. I can control a 26 very well and if I felt like having a full grip, there are options for that. You can always build up your grip but never make it shorter.

But, since you have a 26 already, maybe a 17 for shooting is in your future.

I shoot my 26 at least as well as the bigger glocks maybe even a touch better. for me ( blasphemy!) I could be very content with a 26 as my only glock and only 9mm ( I am mostly a revolver guy, and only shoot the glocks in gssf and any local matches where the revolver is at a distinct disadvantage)

If it's an option, opt for a 34 for a comp gun.

If it's going to be destined a competition gun, I would go with the 17 from the two options given.

IIRC Glock are not making 17.5 MOS anymore, so if you wanted a plain 17 then I would grab a plain 17 Gen 5.

If EDC is covered, I lean toward the G17 ( not that you can’t EDC a 17)which IMO is one of the best general purpose handguns available.

If the 26 is important enough to replace or supplement your old one, then go that way. I honestly shoot the 26 about the same as the 17, except for grip comfort, but this is easily remedied by a plus 2 mag.

Unless i missed it, it doesn't say for what use. Unless you need it to be small, I'd go with the 17 all day.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I have concealed carry and all categories covered. I’ve won 2 g34 the last two years. So was thinking of OG 17 or a 26 to replace my aging first.

They would both be used in gssf. Maybe steel challenge but the 34 has that role.

I'd pick the G17. After all, if you come to realize you really prefer the G26 grip, you can always cut down the G17's grip to make it a G26XL (G26 extra long slide).

17 all day long. The 26.5 is not the same as your Gen 3/4 Glock 26 in width and in some cases won’t fit the same holsters( please someone confirm this)?

The 17 is just a fun versatile gun
