      I need a favor. On your beveled Gen 5 17 can you see straight through the slide just forward of the locking block where the slide stop lever would engage it's lock point in the slide?

      I could care less about the front bevel, it's barely noticeable on my 17.5, but none of my other Glocks has such a large opening for dirt to enter the mechanism as my 17.5 does. Thanks so much.

        Yes , I just looked. It is very large . I think its because of the other side having the same cut in it for the right side slide stop to catch it since it has the ambi-slide stop. On my other Gen 2 and gen 3 glocks its not this way cause of the single-sided slide stop. You are right about trash being able to get in there.
