Being late to the party? Maybe true, but it’s not always a bad thing because you got time to improve on things you and/or your competitors have done before…

I have two P229s and an SP2022. All are flawless.
That’s my point. Sig has countless issues that pop up but most are just fine. Just like mine. Don’t count FN out. Mostly you hear they are top notch.

You’re right. And I own two FNs (9 and 40), which have never given me trouble.

Good point. 👍

That may be true, but the company treatment of that guy was deplorable. I'd rather not even go there.

Just like i won't buy a Taurus, I won't buy an FN handgun. Just my opinion.

Yep, just another hi-cap micro, but looks good and from a very reputable maker. Available with optics cut and FDE as well.
Kind of resembles my Hellcat. They will sell.

Their ad is pretty durn cool, too. MSRP $600-ish - decent price point.

I hated the mushy trigger. First pistol I ever owned that made a Glock trigger feel fantastic. Did the recall and it made the trigger even worse.
FWIW, rather than return mine to FN, I ordered the Apex strikers and installed them myself. The triggers actually improved. YMMV.

I did the same with all my M&Ps. Apex saved them from being the worst striker triggers I owned to some of the best.

Other than the Five Seven, I am not a fan of the FN handguns. I had an FNP, years and years ago when they came out. In fact, I was admin of the FN Forum at the time, and I got the pistol for free.

But, a good percentage of the FNPs had a flaw... When an area around the hammer heated up, the gun would not fire. Lots of people posted about this at the time. Hell - leave the gun sitting in the sun, and the hammer wouldn't drop until the gun cooled down. It was the craziest thing that happened to many people with an FNP.

Then on another gun forum, a member posted about his FNS 9mm handguns. If I remember right, he had 2, and he used them for competition. It's been a few years, so I do not remember the particulars... But, something broke, and FN refused to warranty the gun.

They pointed to some strange wording in their FNS manual about the gun needing to be serviced every 2000 rounds. And, because he did not send it into them every 2000 rounds, they would not honor the warranty. The thread was pretty long at the Pistol Forum several years ago. I think it had photos and details. After seeing that, which is LUDICROUS, I knew I'd never buy another FN handgun...

And, this is from a guy who loves FN rifles. I've owned three PS90s and a SCAR 16S in the past.

If I can find the old thread, I'll post it...
I briefly had a FNP years ago as well and was a member on the FN Forum. I primarily carry a Glock now, what is main carry option ShipWreck?

What do I now carry?

I rotate between 2 S&W guns - A Performance Center 4" Shield Plus and a Performance Center 3.1" Shield Plus. The triggers on the Perf Center models are better than the standard Shield Plus. They break at 3.25-3.5 pounds.

Can we buy the performance trigger for a regular plus? I think the shield plus is the best micro available today.

Some people have managed to piece together a similar trigger over at the M&P Forum.

From what I have seen of those posts - the firing pin block is also different on the PC version. Some really knowledgeable members there have taken everything apart and showed the differences.

But S&W doesn't sell the parts. And, I am not sure how some of the members are getting the parts themselves.

I’d love to replicate that on my pistols. Not a fan of aftermarket stuff on EDCs really.

Two weeks later and according to gun.deals, absolutely nobody has one in stock to sell.

So much for showing up "in the next couple of weeks".

No more review videos yet either. Either Colion was the only one to get one of these in hand or he seriously misread the release date for his video.

This is a really bizarre roll-out. I guess they are so used to military contracts over at FN they have no idea how to sell to the general public.
