So I will try to keep this short....Ideally I would love to have a G43X Rail for my EDC but apparently state side that is not an option right now. I want this because I would like to have the 43X MOS frame (it has an accessory rail) but I want to have my slide milled for an optic and don't want to use the MOS system. I want this for a new EDC and I am considering buying a new G48 MOS and a used 43X. I would then sell the 43X frame and have the 43X slide milled and have the EDC pistol I want with a 48 MOS slide I could throw on anytime I want just to have fun. I have read a few threads on here so I know the parts are interchangeable but my question is, would anyone have any hesitancy in carrying this setup as it is not "Factory" meaning the slide and frame are mismatched and didn't come together from the factory?

I appreciate the input. Do any of yall know why I am not able to reply to "For Sale" posts?

There's no "matching" done. You can swap slides and frames between those two without any fear of reliability problems.
Ya I didn't mean that they actually match them specifically together, my bad for not being more clear about that, but more so how people are always leery of thingsthat aren't "stock" on an EDC that is all I meant.

This could be an option for the setup that you are looking for. Get on the wait list. Keep you from having to buy two guns and part one of them out...

This just made this interesting. Not as fun as having a 48 and a 43x but I definitely like this option! Thanks

I thought that might be it.

Are you new to guns, or Glocks?

Are you already trained on red dot sights? Why a rail-- what's it going to be for on a carry gun, especially on a 19x that is geared for slim CCW?
No I am not new to guns or to Glocks.

I have RDSs on my 19 and 17 so I am very familiar. I want the rail for weapon light. I put one on anything I carry just my preference. I don’t care for any of the mounting or light options for the 43x. I just like rails. With this being a slim setup I am looking at the Surefire XCS or a Streamlight TLR 7 Sub

I suppose it depends on what RDS you want to use. If you want Trijicon or Holosun it’s only a small milling to use the stock MOS slide or one of the other RDS designed for the 43x/48 you could also do it without a plate.
Just buy a 48 MOS and a 43X MOS and be done with it.

I have the XCS on a G19 and the 7sub on a 43X MOS. With the dot brightness on low the 7sub can was it out a bit. The XCS being dimmer doesn’t wash out the dot but it just seems so weak after using my brighter lights.

Ya I spoke to my machine shop before I started down this path and they said they can definitely modify the MOS footprint to make it work but that it doesn't fit as "snug" as it would if it was just cut directly for the optic which is what they prefer. Admittedly I am a little anal and like the fit and finish with the slide cut to the optic.

Yes I do wish the XCS was a bit brighter as it doesn't extend the footprint of the gun beyond the end of the slide like the 7Sub does and this being for EDC I would like to keep it as small as I can and still meet my preferences. That being said the 7Sub just looks right on there but that is probably because I am used to the look of my 19 with the X300U on it.

Which dot are you planning to use? I used a little 507K Holosun. The machinist removed two posts and took just a wee bit off the other two and it is snug. Not sure if missing it for a different dot footprint would be worth it.

I am planning to use the 507K as well. Do you have any space forward or rear of it? Do you know what your clearances are there?

Correction. I have a 407K, not 507K. No gaps os spaces to speak of. The bevel on the back of the Holosun makes it hard to get a good photo with the phone.
