I’ve read mixed things about some of the more affordable sight pushers. Wanted to hear what other had to say. I don’t want to pay $100 for a tool that only works with a Glock. If I’m going to pay $100 I want it to work across the board.

I do have punches and a vice. I was planning on putting Hackathorn sights in. They do not have tridium in the rear sight so a punch may not be a bad idea.

I have a couple that I use for rear and front fairly frequently.

Purchased this rear sight tool two+ years ago. Have used it on multiple Glock rear sights. It is a bit fiddly to set up properly for each push, but is very simple and works. I pad the jaws and pusher block with small bits of cut-up credit cards so as not to mar the finish of the slide.

I previously had a MGW tool as well, and can recommend it highly. It is pretty spendy, though,

Out of all the front ones I have, this is my favorite, it has a comfortable handle and precise fit to the front sight post screw.

I just use a plastic punch and a hammer and the $8 Amazon nut driver. I've swapped all the sights out for the Hackathorn orange front and black sights on my Glocks with zero issues.

The Kuber sight pusher works great. The MGW is my favorite sight tool but for only $40 the kuber was hard to pass up. And actually works. You can buy it on amazon
This one keeps coming up and it has a very decent price. I have a couple m&ps and some people have had success with them. I’m going to give it a go.

I plan to use the took twice. I may use it more down there line, but I don’t want to put money down on an expensive tool that will just sit without getting frequent use.

Is the nut driver magnetized? This looks better than the little Glock tools that are the same price.

Forget about a Sight Pusher and yes they are good but unless you are going into business as a Sight Pusher, They are not worth the Investment! DIY and just follow the instructions that come with your Sights or watch a You Tube Installment Video! It's not that difficult and if I can do it, any one can do it! All you need is vice or not, a Punch and a small File which is used to sometime shave off some excess material. Just take your time and you will save a ton of money by doing It yourself! Give it a Try and be Happy!(y)

I purchased this one. i was very happy with how it worked. Take some time to get it set up, but no complaints..
I have this one and it works fine for a Glock rear sight.
It's coarse threaded, so it doesn't have the power of the MGW.
I have since bought the MGW Pro.

I second this pusher. It is cheap, but it’s not “bad”. It does the job.

Small mallet with nylon head and possibly a nylon punch as well. Although I have an MGW tool, the previous works well too, just not as precise.

No, but you raise a good question: I've found it very useful to place a very small amount of "duct tape" (mine is called Gorrila Tape) type material within the insert of the hex bit. This seems to aide in both providing a small spacer to hold the front sight screw where it needs to be to start threading, as well as a teeny bit of stickiness to hold the sight screw to the tool.

One thing that Dave Dawson shows in his excellent hammer/punch sight install video is fitting the sight.
He says that before committing to driving/pushing, the sight should go on about to the half way point with hand pressure.
I find this to be true.

Meh. I spent the bread for a quality sight tool. IIRC mine ran about three bills. But it’s American made and will last forever.

OP, I bought a real cheap sight pusher. I used it once.

Then I bought the NcStar that is posted above. For $60 you cant go wrong with the NcStar. Don't cheap out you will be disappointed.

I've got the same one and paid around 50 bucks for it. I'm happy I got it and have used it on Glock and S&W rear sights.

Don’t go cheap. The vice and punch is a far better choice than a cheap pusher.

Spend the money or do it manually. Pay attention to what Directdrive said above about ensuring the sight fit.

Indeed. OP, if you go cheap and mar your slide, you won’t be happy.
