Is this a legal question, or a "does this make me look fat" question?

Have you seen the effect of muzzle blast on peripheral door jams and drywall?
Seems prudent to have something (even just a change in texture like a light, or even sling swivel), that prevents and reminds your hand from wandering near the muzzle.

If anyone here has ever been "hassled" or even "questioned" for anything about their SBR by any LE, raise their hand. I Have serious doubts that in the real world, any of these rules are enforced.

You want to be the first tried for having a forward grip on your pistol? I do not.
...at least there would finally be a first
Just so you are aware:

https://johnpierceesq.com/can-you-add-a-vertical-fore-grip-to-an-ar-pistol/

Unless you meet certain criteria, vertical grips on an AR pistol is a no-no.

"However, like so many ATF regulations, this one needs further clarification. If the overall length (OAL) of the pistol is greater than 26 inches then adding a vertical fore-grip doesn’t result in the pistol becoming an AOW. The following letter from 2011 breaks down the ATF’s position:"

The new caveat as of June 2019 is now how you reach this 26". You can no longer include the length of a brace or it's adapter in the measurement.

A lot newer information in this one, the one I found was from 2014.

It certainly is tough keeping up with all the nonsensical laws. It's made even more difficult when the law is perverted by the opinions of people that are supposed to uphold them, not make them.

Thanks, but first of all the BCM grip isn’t vertical as defined by the ATF (90 degrees) it’s 89-degrees. Secondly, I use it as a handstop and not a vertical grip and again according to the ATF intent matters. Lastly, I actually don’t give a s*** about what the ATF thinks of my forward grip on my “pistol”.

You'll be singing a different tune if they do come down on you.
