A.Grip all the way! Since S. FL is so barn humid and we're always sweating I Tried both. A.Grip is soft to the touch, works like a charm, feels like you have glued your hand to it while shooting and the wetter it gets the better it works! When It starts to look like crap after 2 years take a nylon brush & brush it it will suddenly become brand new! The only issue that I've had in 3 years is the top part of the grip (near the trigger and slide) had peeled back a hair. I trimmed it with some medical scissors & brand new!
I expect it to last me maybe seven years which by the manufacturer is great ( they give it 2) The key is to clean the crap out of the frame & clean it again with alcohol before installing & stretch the shi* out of it when you install it!
Best Product ever, Ordering one for my new 23 now too-
2-3 years if you are super rough on it and use the hell out of it. I've got AGrip on guns and other tools now for over 27 years and still going strong. I'm really surprised how long it lasts on the tools i use for working on my vehicles. And my hands don't get as dirty or greasy at all. The way AGrip works it doesn't transfer the grease around from tool to tool so easily as a tool not wrapped.
One of the little tricks with using AGrip is to not stretch it any more than you need to to get it to go where you want it to. That way when you need to stretch it; the "stretch" is still there in the AGrip material so it can be stretched... because it will only stretch so much. Also; you don't want to stick it down with a bunch of tension pulling back on the adhesive because that will cause it to tend to pull away from where you put it. So, if you need to stretch it; "do the stretching" then "let the tension out"... and then stick it down where you want it... that way it won't pull back and shift.
The HUGE advantage with AGrip is that you can wrap it around all sorts of odd shapes and you can get it to conform to whatever the shape is without having wrinkles, or whatever... so... you get complete coverage and more traction... and you don't have to cut little "relief slots" or whatever to get it to conform to whatever shape.
If it peels up at all... catch it *early* and you can "wipe" the adhesive with your clean finger... *hard* and get the adhesive to "roll over" the dust into the adhesive, surrounding it, and also by doing so "roll up fresh adhesive" in the "mix" and then stick it back down and rub HARD and get it to stick again for the duration.
One thing i noticed a lot of people do is they don't put the AGrip all the way to the top of the frame on the Glocks. AGrip is intended to go ALL the way to the top edge of the frame. What this does is it prevents it from getting peeled up... because if all the way up to the top the slide protects the edges from getting caught on anything and peeled up.
The real "key" to getting AGrip on right easily is "where you start it". The closer you follow the instructions; the easier it will go on and fit where it is supposed to... so... start just a little higher than you think... and you won't have to do much stretching at all... it will "smooth" right on super easy.
Oh... and btw... AGrip for the Glock 43x and 48 is coming soon... pattern is already made... tooling comes next. And.... there's already an AGrip model to fit the G47... the "GM" model.
Thanks, everybody!
