Interested in hearing from ZEV 9C owners. Read lots of good and lots of bad about ZEV before buying mine. They make it clear that it's not a Glock, but when talking to the company rep is very similar to the early Porsche' and it's relationship to Volkswagen. A lot of similar parts, but yet different. Out of the box mine was incredibly accurate and a pleasure to fire. Recoil totally different than my 19 Gen 5. In short-a fun gun. However, it's now on the way back to the factory. After 300 or so rounds I still had problems with light primer strikes AND failure to completely go into battery. Quick customer service but was told that turn around time will be long due to only so many personnel available to prepare new guns plus warranty work. You could say that it might take a thousand rounds to "break in" and correct the problems or that it would function better with a different recoil spring, exchange a faulty firing pin or smooth out the slide. In any event the rep said to send it in. Has anyone else with a ZEV had these problems or did your gun work flawlessly out of the box after an initial cleaning. I've had guns that were manufactured to incredibly tight perimeters (Wilson and Cabot for example) that didn't require any break in time before functioning perfectly. And yes, every gun is different.
