Seems to be the best budget value in RDSs. What do y'all think?

Hard to answer. As a RDS, it's just OK, IMO, but it's also very inexpensive. At the $50 price you can find on Amazon, my only real question is "does it work and will it break easily?" My impression based on online reviews and the one that I've been using since last December is that it holds zero and holds up to recoil, but it's not super-clear when looking through and it doesn't have some other features that other RDS have like auto-on-off and very high battery life, to name a couple. Is it the "best budget value?" I think the answer will vary from person to person based on how low they're willing to go when buying stuff like this, or what they consider the absolute performance floor. If you're looking at RDS well below $100, I think it's pretty good. If you can spend a little more than $100, you can get a RDS that's arguably quite a bit better.

FYI, I had to change the battery on mine for the first time today, after about 9 months of use, but that's because I apparently left it on (on the brightest setting, no less) the last time I had it out - oops! Editing for clarity: I typically have it off unless I'm at the range.

I have one on an AR-15. I use it mostly to shoot in a twice a month indoor carbine match.
I have been shooting it steadily for 1 1/2 years with no issues or battery change. I also get one or two days a month outdoor range practice sessions.
Hard to beat for the money but of course their are better sights for more money. It depends on your use.

I've had one on my AR15 for exactly 1 year with no problems. It is solid and is by far the best cheap red dot. I will say that the dot isn't as 'circular' as my Venom Vortex, but that costs 4 times as much. If you want a cheap and reliable red dot, then get it.

I have 2 of them, one on a 10/22 for several years, one I had on an AR. Both worked everytime I've used them, still haven't replaced the Battery in the first one. What makes other red dots better? It works or it doesn't. As a matter of fact it works better for me than the Eotech, the Eotech is is full of red stars. Most recent purchase is a prysm scope for the AR because it works with or without battery. Black dot and circle without battery, red or green when on.

The zero always walked so I couldn't get it sighted in.
I had a lot of trouble sighting mine in too when I put it on my 10.5" AR pistol. It was frustrating. Strangely though on my first 16" AR I ran it on it went much more smoothly.

I've since replaced it with a Holosun. The battery life on the TRS was a deal breaker for me.
