Federal said it 2 times in their video and post on their website that the benefit of the 30SC is that a frame could be made smaller, not just a 9mm gun used.

Not a single guns has been made smaller than the 9mm equivalent for 30SC done that yet.

So main benefit that Federal lists isn't currently being used. That would be a game changer. But until then, you're convincing a pretty small crowd that a P365 doesn't have enough and Magguts doesn't exist.

You're right. I think this has to do with the lack of availability of the round. That, plus a general ignorance of its performance might be a deterrent.

I would but I'm odd, something the size of a G19 with 20rds capacity is pretty good.

 

Gun stores can talk new shooters into buying a 30SC pistol and ammo. I don't think many gun owners are interested in 30SC, myself included.

 

I’d consider it. Problem is currently in WA I’m limited to 10 round new mags.

I wouldn't have bought the one I have except it was at a fire sale price, and the ammo was too. I had wondered about it, but wasn't going to spend "new gun" money on one. Heck, I almost never buy a NIB gun anyway, much less one in an "off the wall" cartridge. This just happened on on of those occasions when the opportunity struck at the same time I had some extra cash. The biggest negeative I suppose, is I know it will be the last gun I ever get rid of, because I'm pretty sure no one will buy it from me.

Did anyone else offer one? Other than S&W and Nighthawk, the only one I heard of was High Point announced a carbine for it. I've never seen one, but I understand they are out there.

 

Three years later and 30 Super Carry is a dud.

How did this round get so popular among the manufacturers , so quickly ? Were they all afraid the other guy would get ahead of them when it took off ? Huge misjudgment by everybody .

Yes, but only if ammunition was priced at or below .9mm.
I believe that it would be ideal in a sub-compact platform such as the Sig 365, 43, 43X...

 

I’ve got a shield plus in 30SC and wish there were more offerings. HST in 30SC performs about the same as midrange JHP 9mm in terms of expansion and penetration. The 9mm shield plus holds 10 in the flush magazine, 30SC version same size gun and grip the flush magazine holds 13.

Not a fan of the additional muzzle blast however.

I recently bought a CSX e series in 9mm and would have preferred 30SC in such a small gun to bump up capacity some.

I’d be first in line for a stack and a half 30SC version something around the size of a g42.
