Why no G19.5 with Factory RMR Cut?

Why is there no Glock 19.5 with a true Factory Trijicon RMR Cut? NOT the MOS version, but a true Factory cut for the RMR. They have just shown they can/will do this with the New 48/43X MOS which has NO MOS Plate. Here’s hoping for a new G19.5 with a factory cut. Just add RMR and done. :flag:

In my opinion a slide milled for the RMR is the best option. It rides lower and does not depend on a plate for support and mounting. Trijicon makes the most robust RDS so in my opinion they should be the Industry Standard, and have one milling option. All other manufacturers could build to that spec. YMMV

Because they know they will not be able to make everyone happy. That is why there are many companies out there ready to mill your slide for whichever red dot you want.

No firearm, car, truck, house....etc can be everything to everyone.

And yet the cut on the G48/43X only fits one red dot...?

This is my thinking also. The G19 is the most popular Glock. The RMR is the most popular/durable red dot sight. So it seems if you only made ONE red dot ready pistol, it would be the G19 (.5) factory cut for RMR without the need for a MOS plate. I think many people go the custom route because there is not a factory cut option. My two cents worth. :flag:

There are definitely advantages to both systems. I’m a proponent of the MOS system but I just had a plate come loose on a match pistol. If I’m not able to remedy the loose plate over time then I won’t be an MOS fan very much longer. Hopefully I’ll know within another years worth of ammo.

That said, I see no advantage to having the dot lower other than the minuscule reduced risk of hitting it on something or being easier to conceal.

I would like the option of having an actual factory cut OEM Glock 19.5 and all you have to do is bolt on the Trijicon RMR (or the new RMRc). I think LE Departments and Agencies would also prefer this setup without the MOS plate. All factory OEM. :flag:

I wouldn’t mind the option but the MOS makes so much sense from the manufacturer standpoint.

One issue is that people who buy an RMR aren’t generally looking for the cheapest option. A few bucks here and there doesn’t matter at all to them. If they actually shoot their gun then they’re used to $1,000 plus orders of ammo. This ammo breaks things on the gun like the red dot sights.

All that to say, I don’t think Glock is losing many sales because they don’t make a specific milled slide for the RMR. I know that I would by the MOS over it and thats coming from someone who had a plate come loose in the last week.
