I want a Gen5 G30S, do you know if they are making the S in Gen5?

 

I very seriously doubt it.

 

I am a fan of the .45 round. the new G5 30 does have my attention. I previously had a 29 and was not a huge fan. but I suspect I'd like the 30. I would also not mind a 21.5, but I recently pulled the trigger on a 21RTF2 PD trade in.

I have only shot a few rds from it thus far, but I have to say, initial impression is that my gen 4 GAP is a better, softer, shooter. I really wish that platform caught on more. handling a G37 and G21 back to back, for me, I wildly prefer that 37. the small grip with the thick slide just makes for a goldilocks combo for me. I would slap my mother for a gen 5 38.

 

I have a gen 4 glock 30 with a 13 round glfull size mag with sleeve. I also have the overwatch precision flat trigger

My only concern, once I got the gen 5 glock 20 it basically made the 45acp obsolete

Considered it but I see nothing that says I need to buy a Gen 5 G30.

I suppose if I didn't already have a G30SF then I might be more inclined. I haven't done any backflips lately over Gen 5 not having any finger grooves.

I do. I want to buy one with night sights factory installed. Add a couple of 9 round magazines and a decent holster and I will be good to go. Concealed carry and house gun.

 

I already have a couple of G30 Gen 4s. I bought one last year because I was concerned the Gen 5 would be MOS, which I didn’t want. Naturally, GLOCK released the Gen 5 as a non-MOS gun, so I could have held off on the last gun I picked up. I‘ll probably get one, eventually. I need a new holster for the G30, as I want to carry it more often in the cooler weather and I enjoy the G30 as a range gun and GSSF gun.

 

Already bought one and shot it today. Going to use as one of my edc guns.

 

I personally have no need for it since I already have a G30 Gen 3. I like the finger grooves.

 

Bought one. Have no idea why. Maybe to go along with my 29's.

 

I like the lack of finger grooves but I also like my 30 made back when Glock still used Tenifer and the "frying pan" finish. Mine is pretty much rust proof.

 

Based on the amount of attention this thread is getting so far, the answer appears to be, "not too many people."

Buying one has crossed my mind but I'm not sure how I'll feel about the 30. I loved my 30S (until it became finicky) but I never liked the bulky 21 I ditched decades ago. I'm worried a 30 would give me more 21 vibes then 30S vibes.

Add to that the fact that I barely shoot the 45s I already have. Adding another means less attention to the others.

 

Glock would probably get more attention to the .45ACP caliber if they would make a thin single stack .45ACP that ran "Glock 17" reliable. The G36 was one of their unreliable models and it was on the big side for a single stack.

 

I will buy one after the dust settles and they go below MAP

 

One I get to handle one, and that means shoot it, I’ll decide. If I end up buying one I’ll part ways with my 30sf and use the 5th gen in GSSF while retaining my 30S for any 45 cal Glock carry needs.

 

I just ordered a G30 Gen 5.

 

I looked at a Gen 5 30 and a 29 yesterday but did not handle them as I just did not have that much interest. I already have other guns I prefer as carry guns and me being a 1911 fan, I will stay with that platform when it comes to anything in 45 ACP.

 

G41.4 and G30.4 finger groves actually fit my hand with medium beaver tail for cross thread points

 

I might be down for an updated 30S

 

I was thinking of getting one but wanted to wait and see if the mos version came out. I contacted Glock and they said no plans yet. But, I recently got a hkvp9 and it is very impressive and accurate. I might look into another hk in 45 now instead.

 

HK doesn’t make any optic ready .45’s either, just FYI. But I am a huge fan of the USP and HK45. I recently got an HK45C and have put over 1400 rounds through it in 10 days with not a single malfunction. I have a holster on the way for it. The G30 Gen 5 and HK45C will have to battle it out.

 

I like the gen 5 features a lot, but I’m not as big of a fan of the thickness so I’ll stick with my 30s.

 

Right now I've got my G29.4 and a 30 slide for it. I've decided to step away from the Blockie Glockie and switch to G23.4 & G22.4. There are just some times when I don't want to carry that extra thick slide. Picked up a G22.5 not realizing how thick the slide is compared to previous generations. I put it on consignment and I should get my check in a few days.

But if i find a friend with a G29.5 or G30.5 I'm definitely going to put some rounds through it to see if I like it anymore than what I've got now.

 

I like my 30s, I attached a holster under my steering wheel. I call it my “Carjacker Peace Pipe”. It’s full of 230 Gold Dots. I like it but I don’t need the g5.

I started buying M&Ps and don’t know when I’ll be buying another Glock.

 

The G30 and G30S are my carry guns of first choice. I have Gens 2.5, 3 and 4. Like them all. I will give the Gen 5 a serious look. Great soft shooting accurate guns. I carry a 21 sometimes in colder months but al go back to the 30. Get the 10rd mags for in holster for carry then use 13 rd mags for the 21 as spares. Ammo and accuracy…

 

I have a 30s and 30.4. I like the finger grooves. I’m set for now.
