Finally got one of these. It doesn't like my underpowered 115gr ball, that or the chamber is too tight. Either way getting lots of FTEs.

The safety is okay, but I won't use. I kind of like the DA, but only because it allows me to dry-fire without having to rack the slide each time. I really like the size and feel of this pistol.
Are your 115's reloads? Mine hasn't stumbled with any factory load. Curious.

When you say 'your underpowered 115gr ball' do you mean reloads?

If not, do you mins sharing what load it was?

I shot a mix of Federal 115gr, Winchester 124gr and a couple mags of 147gr HST. All went fine.

ETA: I was slow. Asked and answered. Apologies.

Bought one this weekend, cleaned it and then put 20 mags through it (240 rounds). No issues, more accurate than I am…but I do have just one itty bitty issue…what’s with the alpha-numeric stamp on the barrel and the tiny ribs that go around the barrel…all the way down it? Is this normal for Taurus (it’s the first one I’ve ever had)? I’ve never seen anything like it. Been thinking about polishing it out but I’m not sure yet.

Darn. I jumped the gun. Now there is a $25 rebate, so you can get one for $175.

What the heck. Might buy another one. Wonder how many rebates are allowed?
One per household I believe. Ah don't beat yourself up over 25 bucks that you have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and wait numerous months to get. I saw how cheap they were in the rural king ad and was going to buy another one myself. Then I looked closer and saw the factory rebate. No thanks guess I don't need another one.

I emailed Taurus and they said one rebate per firearm. No limit per household.

Thinking about it.

The Taurus G2 has gotten so inexpensive that I am seriously considering buying one. Have not even held a Taurus semi-auto in decades, so I have little information upon which to base a decision.

Who here can share real hands-on experience with a G2 and is willing do to so?
I recently bo I recently bought a Taurus G3C and after the third shot the front side blew off I don't know if it was not assembled

properly

So had it 22 months now. Wish I had kept close records of rounds fired. It lives in my gun bag and I try to shoot it every range trip. Not a lot. Couple mags some trips. Couple boxes on others. More when I focused on the G2C. Probably between 3k and 4k rounds. So far no issues at all. It just works. Have not cleaned it in months. Probably over a year. I do wipe down the outside.

At this point I would trust it for SD. Wish now I had bought a few of them.
