I don't own a Gen 5 and I don't really think they have any major improvements over previous generations except for the elimination of the finger grooves.

But If I were to modify any Gen 5 Glock what I would do is swap slides on a G43x with a slide from a regular G43 that didn't have the stupit forward slide serrations and the same thing for the G45.

The only other thing I would do is this:

I have to disagree on a couple of points. First, I like the FS for more than aesthetics, it can assist with one-handed chambering in the event of an injury. Secondly, the ambi slide stop/release is also beneficial in the event of an injury to the strong hand. Training from the point of one-handed or injury is a viable, realistic methodology and both of those features offer positive benefits.

I agree on both points. I've actually found myself using the front slide serrations quite a bit, and the ambi slide release doesn't negatively effect my grip at all.

I have literally zero use for a lanyard plug, but I want one...
Comes in mighty handy when you're riding into battle on horseback :horse:

I've got a couple of 19X's and of course they have the lanyard. It's fine, and they don't get in the way of anything. And it fills up that spot just fine so you don't have to buy a plug.

Sights only. And Talon grips. Nothing else necessary.

I picked up a new G19 gen 5. Generally on my glocks I change the sights, put in a new connector, change some springs, do a 25 cent trigger job, maybe change out the recoil spring assembly, put on some extended controls, etc. Customize it as such.

What are you doing on your gen 5's? Are other generations connectors and accessories compatible? Which ones are and which are not?

Thanks.

Night sights and extended slide releases and that is all.

Frame set with a green rechargeable laser ADE HG54G. I did not expect much but it actually holds zero ok and is usable. G17 slide is on ameriglo tritium night sights. G34 mos slide has a leupold dpp and a set of simple solid black ameriglo co-witness 1/3 sights.

For internals - g17 slide is kept stock, as a ccw. G34 has a jager products steel rod, sets of 11#,13#,15# rsa springs - used now with a 15#.
Impact from a heavier rod indeed feels, it is not 100% imaginary.

Trigger parts are all stock, just polished it according to the 25cent trigger job video. I may experiment with it later.

An ability to swap slides is very nice. Grip - using medium beavertail- love it. Best part of a gen5 design in my opinion.
