Well someone stole my ammo.

Ordered 400 rounds 5.56 online paid for package protection specified plain over boxing. Was shipped FedEx,
tracking says it was delivered and signed for by a E. Lucky no one at my house and in my neighborhood by that
name. Checked my security cameras, nothing. I was off and home all say. I've reported it to FexEx, and the shipper.
They are replacing it. I never specified it needed to be signed for. I am mad enough to chew nails. I'll never use FedEx
again. I just think the driver has something to do with it. Has this happened to you?

Been using FedEx, UPS, USPS, and occasionally DHL for thirty plus years and thousands of packages.
Never had a problem with any ammo or gun shipments, most via FedEx.
FedEx is by far the most reliable, especially for high value cargo.

Happened to a Friend of mine. Ordered a very similar quantity of X-TAC and it disappeared in shipping. Fedex located the last location it was scanned in to be processed and then reloaded onto another truck. Never made that truck, it disappeared somewhere at that facility. A second shipment did finally reach my shooting buddy's front porch about a week later. Looked as though someone at whatever depot that was snaked it. Never found out.
They apparently scope out packages of 5.56 cartridges.

So have I and my family. I've delivered so many FedEx packages to my neighbors they should put me on the payroll. Rarely ever happens with UPS. Apparently this varies by location.

Basically all of my ammo stash was ordered online and I've never had a problem. it's usually shipped with UPS iirc but maybe not always. I think $100 of insurance is included, but if I ordered more than $100 I always paid the extra $2 or so to get the insurance. I don't request a signature, though. Never had a problem. This is mostly from TargetSportsUSA and SGAmmo, with a bit being ordered directly from Federal or Speer via their websites.

I have a small shipment on the way now so I hope I didn't just jinx myself. I caved the other day and ordered a few boxes of stuff my family and I don't have much of (for two new guns and a little of .380). I stopped ordering when prices went sky high last year, but I had ordered a lot before then.

I'm glad they're replacing your shipment.

I've never had a problem with ammo shipments. I shipped a couple of cases to my son late last year and he got it okay... two different shipments. I opted for UPS pickup at my house... about $10 more, but cheaper and easier than a 20-mile or so drive to the other side of town as I once did. Ammo has to be taken to a Customer Service Center, not a UPS store or non-UPS run facility. You can give it to a UPS driver, too, but a computer pre-labeled package is handy for that.
I think a UPS(?) driver or USPS stole his $400 silver coin shipment, but the shipper replaced it. His regular driver thought the temp driver might have swiped it.
Insurance can be handy.

Years ago, I shipped 1,000 rounds of .38SPL when was checked into a UPS hub in atlanta, and never checked out.
I got screwed on that. No doubt it was an employee.

Yeah, good possibility it was the driver, although decades ago FedEx delivered a box to me (with signature) only they delivered it to Wang Laboratories. Wang called me and I called FedEx. They said they didn't care because someone signed for it. Haven't voluntarily used FedEx since then.

This is the lowering of standards for workplace “diversity.” As more companies become
”woke” you will see this happening more often.
Does seem like some ammo calibers are more targeted than others. Some retailers require a signature For delivery.
Sig requires signature. IIRC, nothing on the form allows that to be changed. Have not had problems so far, but as stated previously that will probably change.

Seems to me a lowering of morality, responsibility, and official lack of enforcement for property-only crimes will ensure that. If it's anything firearm related, more and more 'woke' companies and even governments will not be interested in anything but infringing on firearm-related (but maybe not shipping of actual firearms) purchases (like PayPal won't even let you buy firearms or ammo with their service).

It has happened before to some but it’s not the norm. FedEx does have a lot of subcontract drivers, I’ve seen a bunch migrate through in some places. Sometimes drivers do steal a package. UPS usually doesn’t have that issue w/ drivers but in. The sorting bay they have. In an area I lived in UPS dropped off an engagement ring and the FedEx driver is on camera taking the box a few min later.

I think it’ll start happening if ammo gets scarce again or more scarce than it was

Yes Twice!

Was the shipping address changed? My mom used to work for fedex and there was a theft ring going on. They’d change labels to ship to another address. Anyhow my mom reported it, I’m not sure what was done, but ended in that location. What happened to you seems to fits this MO.

Don't order ammo, but as a reloader I've never had a order of powder, bullets or primers not get delivered. Daughter had a laptop shipped UPS disappear that was supposedly delivered.
I work from the house as a field service tech and part orders are a daily thing. 2 years ago the company signed a contract with FedEx. I've never had so many orders disappear. Overnight delivery got so bad (2 to 3 days!) my company instructed us not to use it anymore as they were still billed for overnight. They must be cheap to keep that contract.

Like several other, I shun any business that uses FedEx. Have had MANY problems with FedEx over the years; packages lost, not delivered, left in a field, left by side of the road to name a few - and MANY lies/excuses about why non-delivery. At one point I wrote the President of FedEx by certified mail ("deliver to addressee only, return receipt requested") in response I was given the name and phone number of one of their home office VPs to contact if I had further problems. I used that resource often.
If anyone reading this is a merchant who ships, be aware you may be loosing business by the using FedEx.

its the same with all of them and ive not had one more than the other be bad but all 3 suck if its not lost its broken if its not broken or lost its delayed....and thats all 3 USPS,UPS and Fed Ex for me at least equally i dont trust on or rely on ANY of them anymore because I know they all suck anymore.

Used to be a day I could say i use Fed Ex or UPS because its faster, better, more reliable, less broken stuff etc,etc..cant say that anymore....if i send something from A to B i dont pick anymore i just flip a coin as the % shot it gets there like it should and on time is as random as anything with all of them.

At most places you won't have a choice to not use FedEx.

One online seller I was looking at the other day is requiring that you purchase shipping insurance, they say because of all the problems they are having.

Yes, this has happened to me one time several months ago with a 9mm Bulk order from, Ammoman.com. It was shipped using FEDEX and there was two tracking numbers with this order. The tracking numbers were the same but for different mailing addresses. My order was held up at the FEDEX station for almost a week and I called Sales Service to find out what happened. My Sales Rep was very helpful and took care of everything for me. He notified me that my package has been reported as missing and he cancelled the order and returned my money. Several days later, I re-ordered and received my order within two days. I have been dealing with Ammoman for several years and they have been very good and easy to contact. Also No Shipping Cost on Bulk Ammo and I did not have shipping Ins.

yep, happened to me when I ordered 5 doz golfballs online (direct order from the manufacturer). showed delivered, but no package. called the seller, and they said no prob, they will file a claim with FedEx and send me another 5 doz package, which promptly arrived a few days later. Fast forward a few more days, and a neighbor stops at our door with the 5 doz that never arrived. apparently Fedex delivered to the wrong address. We have a "blvd", "place", and "lane" in our neighborhood all with the same first part. Real genius who decided on that. Well, it went to "lane" instead of "blvd". Called the manufacturer and told them it finally did arrive and they said just keep it. they will spend more $$ reversing the claim and sending back.

Now I don't cringe so much when my golf ball is headed towards the water...

Lots of crying over FedEx. Pick any company and search them on social media and Google and you’ll find about the same amount of sob stories for all of them.

I love FedEx and prefer to use them over UPS.

UPS has destroyed more of my goods than any other shipper. Delays and the like also.

OP sorry your ammo didn’t show up but it sounds like they made it right? If so I’d say that is a happy ending here.

Do you work for FedEx? Lol

I just see people relaying their experiences with specific carriers. Some good and some bad.

I’ve never had any shipped ammo or parts come up missing or stolen. But I live close to the place I buy most of my stuff from. Living less that 30 minutes from Aim Surplus has its advantages. Every once in awhile I’ll buy from SGAmmo or someone like that, but luckily I’ve never had an issue.
