I agree, the PPS Classic is a dynamite little pistol and the M2 is FUGLY.
They both are nice looking pistols IMHO. Better looking than the G43. The hand swells on the M2 easily make it the best feeling grip out of all the single stacks except for the Kahr K9 with the stock rubberized grip.

I will at least concede to you that they do look funny with the extended grip however...

I refuse to send mine back. Same BS as the Sig P320! View attachment 527064
Why is it bs ?? The gun maker says it has a safety defect that can make the gun fire when dropped.. i have never dropped a gun but my neighbor dropped a 45 shield cause he is a klutz.. it was unloaded.

Nobody plans on dropping a gun but it happens. I dont understand why this is bs and you would not want a safer gun ??

I just shipped mine in to Walther earlier this week. So far no email receipt from the company, but FedEx reports arrival in Fort Smith according to tracking number. I was late to the recall party but grateful for the internet to find out about this...I found out about the recall the very day I was planning a range trip with the PPS-M2. I did not receive notification from Walther.

Instead of going to the range, I took the pistol and paperwork to my local FedEx (that experience was comedy gold, BTW). I was curious if anyone has sent one back recently and what their experiences have been. I absolutely COULD NOT get that stupid label to print out but I gave the FedEx attendant the address and number and she finally was okay sending the pistol back after checking with her supervisor.

I absolutely hate dealing with firearm shipping issues regarding mechanical problems or recalls. It is a huge hassle for me (since I can never be available from home to sign for a shipment). My previous recall was for the Springfield XDS-45, and I've previously had to send back a Sig 938 due to an issue with reassembly. I haven't gotten around to sending my Sig 320, I'm just not shooting the firearm until the issue has been addressed with the recall.

I've liked my Walther, but I've noted other problems with the PPS-M2 while reviewing this issue on that forum. I feel obligated to fix something due to a drop safety issue, since the owner of the pistol has responsibility for every round through the firearm while it is in the owner's possession. I also realize that Murphy's Law applies to firearms: if something bad can happen, it will and at the worst possible time. In my own mind (just speaking for me), I just want the "fix" from the manufacturer.

I am also curious (given our legal environment) if the drop safety issue actually happened, or if it is a theoretical risk studied by company engineers.

At the end of the day, I've given up being an "early adopter" of new firearm models, because I'm sick of these "issues" prompting recalls. And I'm sticking with manufacturers who seem to have a "clean" record with regard to recalls (knock on wood...). Glock, Beretta, CZ from now on...and avoiding new models in the first year of manufacture regardless of the manufacturer.

In a year or so time, I had to send in my P320, Canik TP9SF, FNS longslide and MCX bolt carrier all for recalls. They all came back as good or better than new! All great guns!!

.......sadly all these were lost this past winter in a horrible ice fishing accident.....

I give walther credit for fixing the guns. And paying for it. The shipping and paperwork is expensive. Bet the fix is less than a dollar a gun.
Yeah they do that well.. and they kinda need to.

I love my Walthers, but they're kinda fragile at times. You cannot dry fire them without a snap cap unlike others. I dry fired my Walkther P-99AS 10 times and it broke the striker. Same with my CCP. Now it was easy to get them fixed Walther was great about it and quick too. But whenever I use them I have to keep that little ditty in mind about the Dry Firing.

They are the only guns I cannot do that with.
Outside of a 1911 I am the most accurate with Walthers by far they are beautiful guns to shoot. .
