*Video* Buford Pusser's Shooting Of Louise Hathcock; Justified Or Not>?

Being a Dixieland native, Buford Pusser is an icon to both the South, and law enforcement.

However, after years of research, I came to the conclusion, that a great deal of the legend was based on myth. Pusser himself noted that the original movie was a solid 20% pure Hollywood, including the "big stick."

One thing is for sure: He had a shooting, that resulted in the death of Louise Hathcock. Uncovered evidence has one researcher contending it was murder.

Here's the historical version of the shooting:

This is a video, claiming the shooting was "murder."

Any thoughts? :dunno:

Any thoughts?

Yes, wont watch it. Come after me and kill my wife instead and I know who you are. Justice will be swift!
Good that you have a grasp on stuff..........................

Mrs Hathcock had already had her husband killed.

She was shacked up with her husband's killer.

She was the suspect in the robbery that Sheriff Pusser was investigating.

What were you saying?

Duke, I liked the "Killer Rabbit"! It applies here more than anything if you think about it. Hathcock was the rabbit!

"Hhhhmmm, lets see here. Who do I believe? A bootlegging whore who ran a cathouse, or a legendary lawman who was loved by all but the criminal element who was called a gentle giant and rarely even wore a gun? That's a tough one alright."

+10 on this from Interceptor.

I was talking about Sheriff Pusser's wife being murdered and him shot. Not Hathcock. Read the post from SO Interceptor.

Really hate to say anything because of the legion of fans and the man has a daughter step-children and grandchildren.

I am not into conspiracy theory type stuff, and I am not a goggling idiot over Buford Hayse Pusser. My grad school director I will call "A" was a Tennessee State Trooper in the early 60's through about 1974. Before that, he was with Savannah Tennessee PD after a stint as a MP in the Army.

I know him to be an honest man and a Friend. He says that Pusser was crooked, and took payoff's and the Hathcock shooting was not the only questionable incident he was involved in. I am not sure if A would want his name mentioned and I know he has spoken about inc dents he had first hand knowledge of, because McNairy was in his territory.

Pusser was made famous by the horrible incident on 12 August 1967, when his wife was killed while riding with him. This drew national attention, and a folk legend was born.

There are many websites and groups that are all wrapped up in theories, and have documents and recorded statements from those involved.

I know all kinds of secret information about this incident but I can't talk about it. I took an oath of secrecy, don't want to offend living relatives and reestablish the faith everyone has shown this hero.
I just can't talk about, the person I call Z would not want it mentioned.
I should not have even brought it up!!

I do know all about the JFK assassination however.
