Who carries the same pistol all the time, but in different position/holsters?

For example, I typically carry a .38 spl. snub in my pants pocket, paddle holster, and I am experimenting with IMB at the moment.

I know of a few that carry a smaller 9mm in both belt carry and AIWB, depending on attire.

Anyone else?

I EDC my WCV Gen 5 Glock 19 in my Kramer horsehide OWB holster (at the 3:30 - 4:00 position) during the Spring, Fall, and Winter months. During the Summer, or when I need/want a bit more concealment, it goes in a Sparks SSII IWB holster (again at the 3:30 - 4:00 position).

My G19 and G26 are carried in the same 4 o'clock position. It can be IWB or OWB but always at the 4 o'clock position.

Same pistol, same holster, same position all the time.
I have tried different spots but I've worn it the same so much it just feels odd in a different spot.
I tried OWB last Saturday and that only lasted until I got ready to go to the store. It just felt loose because I'm so used to it tight to my body.

I carry a G43 throughout the year but change the mode/position depending on attire.
I usually carry my G43 AIWB during warm to hot months under an un tucked shirt.

During cooler months with a light jacket, I often carry it IWB at 4:00.

During really cold months I sometimes carry it OWB at 4:00 under a heavy winter coat.

To make myself familiar with either mode of carry, I took two courses with my G43 carried in my kydex IWB holster and two other courses with the same gun in my AIWB holster. At our club's outdoor range, I mostly practice drills from draw using my kydex IWB holster at 4:00. I also "dry" practice from draw at home using my AIWB holster. I believe it is imperative to train and practice with each mode of carry if you carry (even the same gun) in multiple modes.

Always train and practice with what you actually carry and how you actually carry it!

All my sidearms that are compact or larger get an OWB holster or a Safepacker. The Glock G33 and the KelTec P11 have OWB holsters, a Safepacker, and a sling pack holster. The J-Frame has an OWB, IWB, pocket, Safepacker, and a shoulder holster. The P32 and P3AT get pocket holsters and a Safepacker. At one time or another all of them get used. It all depends on the situation.

I'm consistent between guns, but different guns are carried in different places.

P365 - IWB behind the hip.
Bodyguard .380 - Front pocket.

Hiking this weekend, I did add an appendix carry, which I do not do with the two regular carry guns above. I had the P365 in its usual place behind the hip for potential 2 legged threats and a j-frame AIWB with hardcast for any 4 legged ones.

Same position on my right hip whether IWB or OWB regardless of which gun. Occasionally I may be forced to pocket carry.

I hate the idea of having to think about where I put my gun before I draw it. In those circumstances I believe there are other more important things you should be thinking about.

Diff carry positions is a disaster waiting to happen imo. Under stress, you will do what you train/practice to do, that is just fact. I see it all the time in training. It may cost you precious seconds you dont have in an immediate threat.
For me, the type of gun doesnt matter. I am well versed in using anything I own. I can switch platforms & not skip a beat. I tend to not but I have. The only real pause for some is going to a pistol with manual safety. You better have 10,000 reps before trusting you will release the safety automatically on presentation, lest you forget & that could be fatal. I think far too many people that ccw dont really take it seriously.

Question for folks who always carry IWB: what do you do when you're in your car?
Practice hitting the seat belt release button so it becomes second nature, without thinking.

I hate the term muscle memory because muscles don't have memories but the the concept is valid. Your body is going to do what you trained it to do and moving your gun around will screw up that process. Pick a spot and keep the gun there. You can change IWB or OWB but in the same spot. It is the reason I only ccw Glocks. It's not because Glocks are the best. It because I carried one for many years and I want no change in manual of arms.
