Its a cosmetic problem that has been with Glocks since I have owned them. Approx 20 years. A quick search will bring up several different theory's on why it does that. Hasn't ever affected the performance of the weapon. I do the boiling water trick to mine as my OCD goes crazy with it.

There is a special water just for bowling? Huh?

QUOTE="j4o5g6, post: 23014174, member: 245400"]I know the frame bending up is normal, but the space between frame and slide on the right side is not the same as the left.[/QUOTE]

It isn't a problem. If you think it is, send it back to Glock

Just search for "GLOCK PIGNOSE" on the web and you will find thousands of references and solutions. I found that using the heat gun method to be effective (heat the dustcover carefully, then press the frame against a very flat hard surface). Immersing the dustcover in boiling water with something like a baggie protecting the frame from direct water exposure works too.

Pignose is purely cosmetic, although it looks "cheap". It shows up on almost ALL Glocks with frames larger than subcompact.

Sure...it looks funny, but it's harmless. At least it's not as bizarre-looking as a huge and over-long tac light on a Glock compact model! :) [Try a TLR-4.]

A) I would not worry about it. How does it seem to shoot? Glocks are not necessarily finely hand fitted but they seem to have a decent record for reliability.

B) I remember once reading about a situation in Bowling Green in which a pipe was broken in some construction. The result was the infamously confusing Bowling boiling water order...

Fixed. Thank you Mr Grammar teacher
C) I think that should be "Mr. Spelling teacher."

It's been a while since I've seen a thread on this subject. Funny to see it come up again. I bet an aftermarket parts vendor could come up with a frame that was straight and true. Some day it will happen. <grin>

oh noes, it's pig nose!

My Timberwolf frame is straight as a non bent arrow.

Leaving the dust cover, 'pig nose' out of it, the rest of the gap on both sides looks pretty even, too me. Getting rid of the pig nose is easy. If the gaps where the dust cover stops and the frame starts were different, you'd have something to OCD about, but yours may be different by the thickness of one or two sheets of typing paper, at the most. It is OK. Shoot it and enjoy.

I agree with Bruce-M...unless one is trying to make a fashion statement with their Glock, I would just shoot it and enjoy it...now if [it] does not shoot properly, or has malfunctions which can be traced back to the frame dimensions...that is a different matter...otherwise, "shoot and enjoy"...repeat as necessary

Glocks are just hammers, not works of art. Hammers have better ergonomics, that's how you tell them apart. This is my old G19 that survived a car fire, warped both the frame and slide to the point where the barrel won't come out. No big deal, replaced all the plastic parts and it still runs.

Those pics are deceiving. I thought it was a Glock hammer.

Is this normal? Would it just be caused by differences in the mold for the frame?

same problem with mine. I refuse to shoot it and have notified Glock. HUGE gap between the frame and slide, especially at the slide release afea. You can put a dime in there!
