Is this normal? Would it just be caused by differences in the mold for the frame?

Glocks are just hammers, not works of art. Hammers have better ergonomics, that's how you tell them apart. This is my old G19 that survived a car fire, warped both the frame and slide to the point where the barrel won't come out. No big deal, replaced all the plastic parts and it still runs.
