Meh. Shoot a bunch of ammo through an auto pistol until it melted. Wooohoooo. I would be more interested in long term real world operation affects over weeks, months, years, than just going gung ho and blast untill it goes inoperable.

OK, so when can they expect a visit from the BATFE? The gun clearly would be manufactured after the Hughs Amendment.
Why would they visit?

:dunno:

The worry-warts are already ordering metal guide rods....

Like they are ever going to shoot 1000 rounds full auto. Ha-ha.

I am not a curmudgeon, I am THE Curmudgeon!

Interesting point of view.

I'm not well informed about reliability/durability testing methods, but the video was impressive to me because it seems to put the pistol through conditions much more damaging than "real world affects". Most of us never subject our guns to extreme high-heat usage of all components as the video did, and intense heat probably does more damage than many thousands of "real world" rounds.

The video helped support my well established belief that Glock pistols are reliable and durable far beyond any use I will ever put them to. The fully-automatic firing mode was cool to watch. I think the demonstration was meaningful.

Interesting perhaps from an editorial standpoint but my guess is this test has little real application.

Do any of you guys know any of the particulars on that auto sear?
Yes, by it self is a Post Sample machine gun. Regulated, you can't own one.

Post sample: Any NFA weapon made after May 1986.

Pretty damn bombproof pistols.....I gotta wonder if an all steal gun would do any better.
Firing full auto like that, an all steel pistol wouldn't melt. But it probably wouldn't take long before you couldn't hold it without asbestos oven mitts, either.

I say thumbs up to iv8888 on the test. I watched his wasr 10 video which failed at around 265 rounds.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the glock far surpass that rifle. I guess wasr's aren't what they used to be since they aren't old military guns anymore.

What's the point? A total waste of money and ammo. Result is to be expected. Guys who have been to Irag or Afg know what its like to fire a weapon until the barrel melts-- in those situations, not a good place to be.
