Tried IDPA carry optics

First time. Used my 43x with a Holosun, dot only. Finished almost last, really out of IDPA practice. I was accurate but glacially slow. First IDPA in a while. I did hit two no shoots down and right. I have noticed the slim Glock tends to make me grip with too much strong hand and I pull low and right. (I am right handed.)

One sure benefit of the red dot is one hand shooting.

I am also confident the red dot is superior past ten yards. I am not sure closer in.

10 yds and in on a full size target is almost flash picture shooting isn’t it? Unless it’s a small target. Even then it’s easier to lay a dot on something than line up sights. Is it faster than just getting the gun up to the right spot? Depends on experience I suppose. Congrats on getting back in the swing of competition.
