Absolutely NO issues with my G2.. Ot does NOT like steel case Winchester but it did eat Tula.
A colleague at work wanted to buy it but has not paid me for it and I am reconsidering the sale.
Not liking steel cased ammo isn't uncommon. One of my buddies with a new 365 told me it has issues with any steel cased ammo.

Looking at range reports over on the Taurus forum is showing pretty impressive round counts, good accuracy and little to no individual issues going back to the original PT111 (predecessor to the G2 series). And the quality of the G2 series just continues to get better.

Hey Deputy ... Was it first called the PT111, then the Millenium PT111 G2, then just the G2?

Yes, The 'G' was for gen 2. So it was PT111 then PT111 G2 and now just the G2c or G2s.

my PT111 Millennium Pro. this was my first cc gun, couldn't afford much when i started carrying. Taurus insults roll right off this little guy. it has been completely reliable, brass, steel, everything i have tried. people complain about the trigger, long but predictable, and the reset is short. i shoot this every time i go to the range, it has really gotten a workout through the years.

got one of the for xmas from brother in law seems like a nice gun. anybody have any experiences with one of these ??? Any info appreciated
My wife and I have about 500 rounds through each of ours without a single issue! FMJ, HP, doesn't matter, they just run and run!

My best advice would be to get the stainless steel replacement guide rod and spring kit from lakeline LLC.

Shoot the heck out of that thing because it is a fantastic gun oh, my wife carried hers every day until she got her p365. If you want a great companion to your g2 then look into the PT709 slim, currently being produced as the g2s. My EDC is the PT709 and it too has never failed!

For the price of the PT111 G2, G2c and G2s it simply CANNOT be beat! This handgun is properly priced 179-249 depending where you find it...... The first impression by feel is
COMFORT and contoured Awesome
The capacity at 12+1 is fantastic.
The recoil vs barrel size is fantastic
The trigger is not an award winner but it is a defensive handgun not a race gun.
The reset is better than MANY 3x the cost
The sights are not that great but work
The receiver is great along with the excellent grip.
Loaded chamber indicator is very nice
The slide is solid and well balanced
Slide finish is not great but hey We have options.Had Taurus put a better finish and better sights the ECONOMIC part of this handgun would be destroyed.
This handgun should kill all hi point sales and begin to infringe on higher priced handguns that are primarily used as a defensive handgun.
These are just my opinions after owning and shooting this gun for almost 1 year.We all know how opinions are lol.

Love my g2c and have been toting it up as being as good as a Glock. Well my recent range trip may have proved that isn't quite true. I will say I took garbage Winchester forged USA ammo with me. The Glock ate it up. Probably 150-200 rounds. The taurus got somewhere between 60-75 and started having malfunctions. FTF..FTE and a stove pipe. Think it hit it's limit with the dirty ammo. I haven't had these issues with brass ammo but it doesn't appear it's as resilient as a Glock.

The Taurus G2 is one of top Value pistols.
@ $200ish it is a great value
So are
Gen 1 Shield @ $250 -275
Walther Creed @$275-300
S&W SD series @ $250-300
XD9 Defender @ $300
Ruger Security 9 @ $300

The Taurus PT111 G2 , just work well ... I need one

Update on the trigger blade safety catching unless finger is just so on the trigger

Saw in a Taurus forum how you can twist a twist-tie around the trigger with the blade pressed in and leaving it on a couple of days ... I was skeptical but that worked, it's no longer sensitive to finger placement. The compression makes the spring take a set and fixed the issue

i liked it for its fit form and function... really like the way it feels in my hand and love the second strike capabilities...nothing bad to say about it ... however i have gone back to my LC9s... at least for now

And to be fair, many guns have a problem with steel case and/or dirty ammo. My buddies 365 won't eat any steel case at all.

I don't really need another pistol, but I've thought of purchasing a G2 just to have and to test long term. Particularly since they're so inexpensive right now. I'd just have to decide whether I want the G2c or G2s.

that was my rationale, for the price why not.

Trucker is that the Winchester in the brownish box that is steel case with a brass bullet? I shot 50 rounds yesterday in my Shield Gen 1 and G19. No failures, but it is dirty. I wanted to test a box prior to getting a 150 round box at Dick’s on sale for $22.

Yeah it was that junk. I didn't realize how dirty it was before I orders 350 rounds...lol. Certainly wasn't from dicks though. I wouldn't give them 22 cents of my money.

Pounded through 150 rounds at the range tonight, runs like a champ

This thing has really grown on me, for the price and utility of it, it's a no brainer

I had a customer come in last week and his G2C already has a cracked frame. I didn’t get a chance to ask details.
