Rubber. I have them on all my carry guns and a G34. My wife has the grit texture because she liked that came in pink. Works for her, but I can't stand the texture

 

The general consensus seems to be grit for competition and rubber for concealed carry (if it's going to be against your skin).

Many folks like the rubber because of the grip and that it doesn't grab your cover garment. The granulate is very good, but a bit aggressive for some people. It can scrub on clothing and skin. Taking some fine sandpaper to it will take the sharp edges off the grit making it more comfortable to shoot and carry. Although I like the rubber, I prefer the granulate.

If I may, let me suggest another grip as well. Check out the Agrip from Brooks Tactical. I bought mine from one of their dealers, Pistol Accents. The one for my 30S was about $27 with free shipping, so a little more expensive, but well worth it. It looks and feels like suede leather, but provides a good purchase on the firearm, and when your hands get wet or sweaty, it almost feels like it gets grippier. Doesn't grab clothes either. It also covers the firearms grip more completely.

 

Rubber.

But I did buy a big roll of that faux suede stuff with adhesive backing to modify a holster and I could see it being used as a grip texture.

 

I've never tried the rubber but used the sandpaper type grip from another company on Gen3 and loved it. If not careful it would cause some concealment issues, wasnt my primary gun though. I do not feel the need on Gen4

 

Grit was my first, prefer the rubber now.

 

I didnt want sandpaper ripping up my shirts... the rubberized are very comfy, nice grip.

 

I started with grit because I thought it would be "grippier". But too rough so sanded down a bit (mentioned above) to fix. That was all right but still sometimes snagged my cover shirt. Not a good look! So tried rubber on my last Glock purchase and it converted me.

I then took the grit grips off my other pistols and installed the rubber grips. I also would suggest looking at TRACTION GRIPS http://tractiongrips.com/id47.html which are about the same as TALON but at almost 1/2 the price!!! Can't go wrong ther - and they look cool!

 

I prefer rubber on the G27

I know you know this but plastic gripped guns are slippery, especially when they get just a little wet. So the best traction you can get goes along way to keeping the necessary grip pressure to allow fast/accurate follow up shot.
For concealed carry I do NOT like rubber as it snags the cover garment & you are always adjusting. aggressive stippling or grip tape for me.

Why didn't we think of that? Guess Talon should just fold up shop and call it quits now that we know the secret.

I have the rubber grips on my G43 and really like them. The looks pretty good too..

 

I have both on all of my Glocks but I prefer well sanded down grit, especially on my sub Glocks.

 

The rubber ones are great. I'm not a fan of the grit model, the rubber provides more than enough traction for me on guns that I feel need it.

I've got Talon on my LC9S Pro and really like it.

 

I like the grit for my 43, but have rubber for all my other models (21, 30s, 26 and 19).

 

I just put the rubber Talon grips on my M&P40c last week and it is like having a new gun.I love the secure feel of the grip now. I wear that pistol IWB so I don't want the sandy grit up against my skin.

 

Rubber texture if it will be against your skin.

Sandpaper texture if you want the most grip possible and won't be concealing it (not only does it tear up your skin something awful, but cover garments stick on it rather than slide)

I tried the sandpaper/grit texture for a carry gun after using rubber for awhile. I thought that with how some people actually complained about stock Gen4 grip texture hurting their skin, it wouldn't bother me...wrong, wore my skin raw within an hour or two and my cover shirt kept getting stuck on it. I took some fine grip (150?) sandpaper and really wore it down, I can carry concealed with it now and it's doable, but cover shirts still stick to it a little more. It does grip better than the rubber still, but I don't think it's going to last long the sandpaper treatment took a lot of life out of it
