I have a friend whose has one of these rifles that I am thinking about buying from him so Im trying to find out some info on the rifle and the scope as far as quality and what is the value of the rifle and the optic. The rifle is in fairly good shape but the optic has some obvous exterior wear on it. The rifle has several different numbers stamped on the bolt and on the reciever near the safety and none of them match. It is a cool looking setup and I wouldn't mind owning it but I have no idea what would be a good price to pay for the combo

The rifle has a straight stock on it, not a thumbhole and the barrel looks to be around 24"

If the 4800 had a straight stock then somebody must have swapped out the original thumbhole stock. The barrel length is about right. It's 21" plus muzzle device. Other than the thumbhole stock and muzzle compensator, it's the same as the SAR-48 which is the Brazilian IMBEL version of the FAL. Damn fine piece of iron.

The Trilux was the forerunner of the SUSAT, and it was a pretty decent short scope back in its days.

I'd give $1000 for the rifle and maybe $200 for the scope.

I looked at the rifle again today and the lower receiver is marked SAR 48 Match and the upper is marked SAR 4800, is it normal for these guns to have so many different numbers stamped on them and does this affect the value, the lower, upper, bolt and every other part that has a number stampd on it are all different numbers
